I'm thinking that this was an optical illusion type thing.....as in the angle in which he saw the play?  Not sure....

Isn't that what they call the "neighborhood" play??  LOL

Kulpa didn't have a very good night (no, I'm not being critical...)...first, he gets HBP from Aroldis Chapman...an errant bullpen pitch...then gets caught up in the Votto Voodoo...

Crazy night in the Windy City!!

Those plays are tougher than they appear.

With a runner on third we need to be mindful of the fast that F3 will probably try to leave 1B as soon as possible and could try to steal the out.

Before instant replay, that would be always be called an out (as long as the throw didn't pull him off the bag), but now with IR can't do it as it will be overturned.

Video killed the Neighborhood Play, Video killed the Neighborhood Play.

August 1, 1981 when MTV was cool, the Buggles told us 'Video killed the radio Star'. At 17 years old, I couldn't even fathom replay in baseball. Now, soon to be 51, video is everywhere and it's here to stay. FED has let into the dugout (for training purposes) and for now that where it stays. But it won't be long, they'll be using it in the post season and may have already in some states.
