OK ...

At first, when I heard about it there was absolutely no interest at all.  I understood what it was about and it just didn't "blip" my radar.    Then, a friend of mine on facebook who's  become a fan is posting stuff and I start to think ... "wow, I'm hearing a lot about this show" .....then a couple days later SWMBO says, ..."have you ever seen this show, ...it's pretty damn funny".    Now I'm thinking, ..."Hmmm, it's only a half-hour show, I'll give it a whirl" .....

That did it!

This show is funny stuff.   And, appears to be a very unscripted show also, unlike a lot of reality television.   I love mindless entertainment, and this is just that, easy to watch, easy to understand and naturally funny.    To add, it's a fairly interesting family story of how it all started and what it's become!

Anyone else liking this show?

I walked into a local restaurant the other day and half the Duck Dynasty crew was in there eating.

Here's a better one.

Calling at one of the top 1A programs in the state a couple weeks back and Jase's son plays for them. Jase was in the stands watching the game. Pretty cool actually. Yes, be jealous! haha

I really enjoy the show, I it is great to have a show that the whole family can watch and enjoy.  There are very few shows out there that my wife and I, and our 4 yr old can all watch and be entertained.  I understand that some of it is scripted but as far as I can tell it is still pretty true to how they actually live and work.  I have seen many videos and read many articles online about their family and they all seem to be very humble people...

If you get a chance and have not seen the video of Phil explaining how he started the company it is great!  He talks about having a master's degree and teaching school, but he was not happy with how their life was going.  He had built a duck call that made a sound he had never heard in all of his years of hunting, and he knew it was they key to happiness for himself and their family.  So he quit teaching and sold everything they owned, starting living off the land, building and marketing duck calls, and everything else has fallen into place.

I have always been drawn to the quote from Phil, "I am a low tech man living in a high tech world", and also his numerous quotes about everyone being so "connected".  To me our society as a whole could learn a lot from him.  If people would just put down their phones/computers/ipads, for a few minutes or give their children as much attention as they do their phones, we would not have near as many problems...

I haven't seen it but I get constant references to it. I'll have to watch.

don't do it. You lose brain cells every second.

Jeff, make "HELL NO" one of the options in the poll and I'll answer it

It's funny without being annoying. I find out interesting that Phil was the starting QB ahead of Terry Bradshaw. Sent from my C771 using Tapatalk 2

The family element is great on the show. It is also nice that they place an emphasis on their Christianity. It is not done in a blatant way, but if you ever hear Phil speak he talks more about his relationship with God than he does his duck calls. Cool story.

Last week we spent three hours talking about 50 shades of grey. Me, I like charcoal grey. But Martin, he likes slate grey

I hope nobody answered Heather Gray. :smachhead:
