Has anybody else had issues recently with The Official's Choice? I ordered 3 shirts from them over a week ago, and I still haven't received a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. I can't contact customer service via email, and their voice mail inbox is full. What should I do?

Never order from OC again. LOL sorry. Wish I could be more help. Recommendation is next time order from either Honigs or Ump-Attire (the official umpire supply store of UE ;) ) . Bot have less expensive versions of their clothing and are much better products.

Bad customer service but you should get your items. That's typical of them.

Next time I buy shirts I'm gonna try T-Ringer at officialcall.com has anyone had much dealing with them?

I have had the same trouble PonyUmpire. I ordered 2 shirts that I should have received on the 22nd. I emailed twice with no reply from them. :hopmad:

Yeah, the only reason I bought from them was because my new assignor down in San Diego told me to. Meanwhile, I've placed multiple orders with Ump Attire and the customer service is amazing :notworthy:. My plate shoes, cup, belt, and combo hat just arrived from them today (Ordered them on Monday!!!).

did everybody order a back-ordered-until-7/6 new black shirt? I ordered three shirts, two were supposedly in-stock, one wasn't. I wondered if they would wait to send all three.

Just wondering how many times there have been complaints about Official Choice on the Forum.

Perhaps we should put up a Official Warning Banner...lol

To all my fellow umpires. I have now placed and received three substantial orders from terry at official call in west virginia. first let me to tell, terry is a very knowlegable guy with regards to umpire gear and apparel. he is great to talk to about equipment and apparel. i have now ordered over 25 of his navy lightweight shirts for myself and fellow umpires. also i have order white and black umpire shirts along with 3 pairs of smitty plate pants , two masks and maks pads and accessories. the service terry gives is A1. prices are very reasonable and the quality of all his merchandise is top notch. i am so glad that i place my first order with him in april . now june 27 and my third ordered received quickly and as ordered has arrived in less than three days.. Three orders worth 700 bucks and i am ordering a dozen shirts or so in the next few days as my fellow umpires rave about his navy shirts . so fellow umpires , give terry a try at official call and im sure u will end up like me, a very happy and satisfied customer that will be buying more of my umpire needs from official call.... and remember buys when in doubt call em out lol

It's a shame cause they have some nice materials on shirts now

I ordered 2 shirts from +POS - very cheap and, as it turns out, good quality although they run on the small side. I COULD NOT get hold of anybody there to confirm the order, but got it in about 10 days. Terrible customer service.

I will be ordering a full compliment of shirts from Terry for my closet. Just waiting for the gear fund to reestablish itself :(

Thanks for the information. On his website, shirts are $29. On ebay they're $20 shipped. i emailed and asked about this. He said they will gladly honor the ebay price if you mention it.

Here's my experience with TOC:

They have a different business model than most. Get their product in as many hands as possible, with loss leaders (read: heavy discounts). Their product don't quite match other makers, on purpose, so subsequent orders will be a higher prices. That's an interesting way to do business.

Their overseas supplier doesn't seem to have handle on when thing are going to ship. You'll see them sell "pre-ordered" stuff, with a guess on when they'll show up. They've been weeks, and months off.

Their first batch of shirts were ill fitting, and of poor quality. They have improved, and my favorite black shirt is one of theirs. Their long sleeved shirts are outstanding.

They need one of their products to be a hit. A staple for every umipires bag. I've offered suggestions, and they've responded. Yeah, it takes awhile for them to respond, but they do, most of the time. If they made a proper digital camouflage jersey, they'd clean up. Tomorrow. ( I think the camo version they have now is from the French Army, and comes with a white Leaving Early flag for LL games.. Not good, fellas. )

Their customer service IS awful. They really need to work on that. They also need to actually get shipments in, BEFORE they offer them for sale. But I'm sure it's a cash-flow thing.

I think they can find a niche, They just need to focus more, do some more off-line research (chocolate brown shirts? Near black pants? Baby blue ball bags?) before they get another off shore shipping container full of crap they can't give away.

My suggestion to them was to find a way for them to be the official supplier to Little League. Produce something stunning to be seen on world wide TV, and let the $ roll in. LL umpires are their biggest market, hands down. I'm shocked nobody in the biz realizes this.

I posted something last month. I called and left voicemails 3 times, and sent numerous emails that ALL have yet to be responded to. This is totally unacceptable and because of it will NEVER get my business again. E_V_E_R!

But, on the other hand ....you know, this economy of ours is BOOMING right now, so I guess they don't need our business!?

They're useless

They replied to my email(finally after sending 2). They said their shipment came in later then expected and it would be shipped by the end of the week. How can you tell your customer when they will receive a product before you have it? POOR BUSINESS!! They lost my business!!

OC is a place that has very nice shirts. Specifically tha new MLB shirts.

Yes customer service sucks.

It is a place to order stuff if you are not in a hurry for it.

Me and a couple of guys normally go in on a purchase together and split the shipping. And just wait for the shirts.

Granted we only buy when the shirts are $10 -$13

Life's much easier when you buy from quality vendors and pay a little more. My only, ONLY complaint about Ump-Attire is that they do not attach numbers to umpire shirts. Their service is above and beyond what I get from others.

The higher prices I pay for higher quality goods is well worth it to me. I do get paid to work games, after all, so I'm happy to make an investment in my equipment and clothing.

Edited to add: Someone was unloading a navy jacket that didn't fit. It was an OC jacket. Fit me, the price was right. Until I got home and realized it didn't match my other jacket and, therefore, wouldn't match anyone else. Amazes me how they do this and get away with it. I'm guessing many umpires just don't care that much.

Here is the problem I have with OC. Their prices are NOT any better than Honig's and Ump-Attire. They never have the colors I need or want and I see guys who have no chance of matching ANYONE on the diamond unless they have OC as well. I look at their stuff about 2x a year...I am never impressed!

Prices are better on their sales of $10-$13 and their shirts are very nice. Good material and the shirts are long and stay tcuked in. I have no problems at all matching others with the MLB Style shirts.

I bought mine on sell also. I ordered the MLB navy a while back without any problems. I ordered the MLB powder on the 19th. The shirts are nice but I wish the customer service was better. Dont give a arrival date if you dont have the product to ship out yet.

Their light blue shirts don't match any other makers.

Neither do their navy, but to a lesser degree.

The stripes on the collars have always been a different size.

They do this for a reason.

The places that do attach the #s only heat press them on (usually not sewn). Iron ons don't stay on. I take my #s and shirts to a little lady that sews em on
