Jax...We don't use the MLB replica shirts so I guess to each his own. Every time I hear they are having a sale they never have either what I'm looking for or they don't have it in my size. I have used OC shirts in the past. I would borrow from someone if they had two and wanted to wear a "funny" combo like red w/black collar. Heck, I've even worn their brown shirts before when one of our guys had two and he "insisted" we wear them...

They are cool in the summer, the buttons fade, their colors don't match(non MLB replicas) and have terrible service. I will buy a Dalco from Jim before I send money to OC!

The places that do attach the #s only heat press them on (usually not sewn). Iron ons don't stay on. I take my #s and shirts to a little lady that sews em on

My Gerry Davis Signature series shirts had the number sewn on and look better than fellow umps who got new ones last year from Honig's...mine are going on their 4th season of HS ball with no fraying on the numbers...none! They have a very nice zig-zag stitch they use to attach them...

Next time I buy shirts I'm gonna try T-Ringer at officialcall.com has anyone had much dealing with them?

I have met and dealt personally with Terry. He is a straight-up guy. He always had some tables set up at our mandatory VHSL rules clinic every year and I could count on picking up something I needed. He always had some specials and you could try something on to see if it fit (which helped me out when I bought NB shoes because they don't run true to size). Sadly, we have gone to online rules clinics so I won't get to see him like before. I haven't visited his website in a while - it could stand a little classing up, but he is very customer-friendly from my experience.

I intend to order a full compliment of shirts for next season. About 12 or so for myself. Terry is going to get a shot at them.

Oddly, in the twice I've ordered from OC I've never had a problem. They charged me canadian funds on thier american prices (there was a fair difference in the dollar value at that point), recieved things within 2 weeks, no boarder fees and exactly as represented on the website.... perhaps I am an exception to the rule. Although I have to agree with the acessment of some of the colors they try to hawk. Chocolate actually doesn't look too bad, a know a few people around here who got them, and please excuse my not being an american and appreciation of american culture and values and blah blah blah, but those flag jerseys... gaudy doesn't even begin to describe that. A complete disgrace to the flag imo, but I digress. Looking for soe new equipment myself I plan on checking out some of the recomendations here as our supplies here in Ontario *cough*honigs*cough* prices are way out of whack with our american counterparts so it's well worth shopping online.

I really cant believe that anybody who has read anything on any of the umpire forums about OC would ever buy from them.

Here's my summary for future readers:

1. Yes they are cheaper. Note I said cheaper not less expensive. But they are less expensive too.

2. Their quality varies and it is a total craps shoot if you get the better or lesser quality

3. Their customer service couldn't be worse even if they tried

4. Along with their horrid customer service they refuse to communicate with the suckers who purchase their goods

5. They repeatedly list and accept payment for goods they do not even have available

6. Many of their products don't match the items they are knocking off in terms of colors size of stripes

7. Their reply is that the industry would adjust to them (I forget their exact line)

If you want to order from a company like, help yourself. But don't come complaining when they do you like theydo everybody else.

You have been warned!

I found a seller on eBay, diner30 (Purchase Officials), sells Smitty ComfortTech shirts, $22, no tax, free delivery...received within 3 days of order twice now....Bought Black, Navy, Powder and Carolina Blue, and White shirts....I really like the shirts, always get email confirmation and tracking numbers, etc. seems to be legit so far....Just putting it out there as another source for shirts. I also will say that I have used Ump Attire multiple times when I was first getting all my gear together, bought shirts, pants, ball bag, belt and shins from them....Great dealer! I really like the Gift Certificate option where I hint to all my relatives for Christmas, Birthday, Father's Day, etc., get me a certificate!!!
