Haven't seen any, Warren - the game just ended a little bit ago.

It kind of looked like a long towel, with something wrapped inside it - it was really large around the back of his neck..... at first I thought it was some sort of neck brace like you'd see on some football linebackers.

It might have been some home-spun device to keep cool... I don't know what the temps were (played at FSU)... but if it was a hot day, then that's a bit strange, because the crew was wearing black jerseys. :WTF

I thought I saw a shot of the thermometer and it was right at 100. I saw that white sticking out from his neck. I just figured it was a wet towel to help keep cool.

It looked like a towel to me. I'd never seen an umpire do that before.

The guy working the plate today is wearing one as well around his neck, just a gatorade towel with who knows what is soaked in or carrying.

Probably ammonia and cold water special formula, fixed up by the trainer in a bucket, with a towel or sign put on it so nobody drinks it.

Not to go too far off topic, but this looks "interesting" I use the quotes out of scepticisim. Soak the towel in cool water and stay cool for up to 3 days???

At only $5.50 I may have to check this one out. Anybody have any experience with these?

Yeah, saw it ....looked like a towel to me .....

Did anyone see /notice his pants went from the waist down (almost black) and faded to charcoal below the knees from the water and sweat....must have been miserable.......

Had a partner on Saturday who had seen this and he made up 2 towels wrap up with rubber bands and kept a small cooler full of Ice water in one of the dugouts and between innings he would rotate towels. It was 100 here that day.
