Anyone have any idea why mid base shoes have stopped being produced? The only ones I know of are the Mizuno but they are just too ugly.

We have been doing it in NC for several years.

Here are my two cents. I don't care. This is MLB. What happens at that level doesn't really affect me. In my opinion we have too many umpires thinking like players/coaches. Learn the rule. Don't let the coaches sway you unless it is warranted. Know the rule, know the spirit of the rule, and know how to apply it.

In NC, this would be a no brainer. NC has zero tolerance for profanity. If it was loud enough for the fans to hear it then we have an EJ. But, that is NC.

I equate this with the umpires who crossed the line when the MiLB umpires went on strike. They tell people 'I worked pro ball." No, you didn't.

I hate to say it but, in todays "blame game" society I fear his career is over. MLB or NCAA.

I would have asked him if he was calling my partner a cheater. Then it's on him.

I agree Maven. Know the rule. Know the spirit/ intent of the rule. And know how to apply the rule. Sometimes you just have to umpire.

If the batter isn't ready and the pitcher starts his motion just stop him.

Stop the pitcher from pitching.

You don't rotate home unless the BR commits to third after touching 2nd. Read the play.

Read rule 2-32 Art.2.
