Bringing up a week old thread but am curious. On a force play how can a runner beat the throw but miss the plate? When I say beat the throw I mean the ball arrived, fielder has possession and makes contact with bag with ball in glove, but runner "beats it", running through the base (or HP), but not touching. Would you call him out immediately because he never touched the base, thus is out on the force, or once he runs passed the base it has to be appealed?

Material on the two are worlds apart. Black is soft and comfortable, blue feels stiff. I'm hoping these are softer more performance feel.

First year with the wraparound for me. I do enjoy them and they feel comfortable and provide nice protection. That being said, the pads can get a little uncomfortable in the high temps.

IMO ears are just as important as eyes in these situations.Did you hear it hit the bat before the glove? Did you hear the ball hit the dirt before the glove.

Had a kid hitting, pitching, and playing first base with this situation today. I think it's awesome. This is USSSA major level so he was no slouch either. Major props for the dedication it takes him to make his motions and adjustments natural.
