    Had to drive 8 hours out of my way for any type of formal instruction. The MAUC was well worth it though.

    This is standard, we're the only state that plays summer baseball. School starts in August. The state tournament will wrap up in late July.

    Nope, last night was opening day for high school baseball in Iowa, regardless of level.

    In U-trip we give one warning per pitcher in 12U and below. The exception being bracket play in tournaments on Sundays in which there is no warning. You just have to be extremely lenient at that age and only call the really obvious stuff.

    I ordered 3 pairs of Hudson51wear.com three weeks ago today and I've heard nothing from them since ordering with the exception of a confirmation email. When I go to my order online it shows as shipped but doesn't list any tracking information, shipping date, etc. and they haven't responded to my email. Has anyone ordered from there and had a similar experience?

    The F3 is the second mask I bought, three years after wearing a Diamond ix3 with TW pads. I've worn it in a few JV games and the thing is built like a tank but extremely heavy compared to my diamond frame. If you plan on wearing it on weekends to work tournaments it's not for you, it'll destroy your neck. If you're looking for something tough and safety is your number one concern then buy the F3. It's just tough for me to get used to the different weight and view it gives me.

    Thanks! Just ordered 3 pairs of the plate pants. Hopefully I like it as much as my GD Fechheimer pants.

    Mound Visit

    I do music and sports production for my former high school which includes keeping all the music up to date. We have a number of songs for visiting mound visits including the Bull Durham mound visit which I cut up and cleaned. Always gets a laugh.

    I do it regularly because I'm a college student and I'm just trying to make ends meet. It's also how I get most of my games as I don't have a large high school schedule with it being my first season of high school. It's also a lot less pressure and I get to see unique situations that I haven't seen before.

    One more, does a runner have to slide on a close play? I'm assuming yes.

    Hey guys, it's my first year of varsity ball and I have a number of questions that I can't find answers to. 1) Does the batter have to make an attempt to avoid being hit by pitch? 2) Can the fielder use the safety bag? (I know he can on dropped third) 3) Ball hits runner standing on second base 4) Can the pitcher feint to third base and not throw? 5) High fiving player before touching the plate on a homerun 6) Batter hits ball off himself is it the body part of where it goes off has to be in the box determining whether he's out or it's a dead ball?
