Yeh, heard this on the best afternoon drive time show in Portland a couple days ago. Just to funny for words. But the version I heard was that, when the cops pulled them over, the husband was still in the passenger seat and the wife had jumped in the back seat. There was no one behind the wheel. Now I think this story qualifies under "stupid human tricks"! LOL

It could be interesting. Not sure if I would actually call in. But I think it would definitely be interesting to listen to. You would have to figure out a way to either end or get around the war stories of callers (especially the long rambling ones) but its doable.

Saw this at a scrimmage on Saturday. Got into an argument with other umpires about the fact that this was illegal. One didnt know what I was talking about, one said he would ignore it, and one agreed with me that we should nip it in the bud as soon as we see it.

Could be Washington. As far as I know, they get more of the migrating whales there than we do here in Oregon. My thinking would be the Puget Sound area if it was. Would seriously love to check out this book if you can find the name of it.

One of the guys in my HS association actually velcroed on a 1/2 piece of plastic over the center of his K1. The first adaptation I have seen where I would actually go out onto the field with that CP. Otherwise, not a chance.

If I could swing the money past the wife I would. Might have to wait until next year for the Reebok plate shoes... put those on the list along with the Ultimate Umpire long sleeve shirts that Jim told me were coming next spring.

I started doing this after the post from last month. So far has worked great on my NB plate shoes and my Reebok base shoes. Only thing I think I have to start doing is carrying it with me in my car so I can spray down the scrubbing bubbles right after the game and do the hairspray went I get home.

I have not owned one of the old powder blue shirts in almost 3 years. Just dont have it. If my partner doesnt have black, polo or cream (dont have red or gray) then we go with Navy. (I dont mind wearing navy on the plate so much anymore after getting an Ultimate Umpire Shirt from Jim last year... I wonder why that is :-) )

Ditto for NW Oregon and SW Washington. The move to Charcoal has begun. I have been sitting in on the new umpire classes here for the refresher and when they talked about getting uniforms it was Navy shirts with charcoal pants. Not even a sniff of a mention of heather gray. Now me personally. I wear the pro/college colors when ever I can. I am guessing I will have at least two games where I can do that in the first two weeks of the season. The other four or so games, not so sure.

I think the photo is Heath (never worked with him on the dish). Good guy though as is Tony and the rest of the guys at Honigs SoCal. I actually thought the PU did a pretty good job. Completely sure who it was though. Think my first Pac 10 game Im going to attend is the Civil War game here in Portland between Oregon and Oregon State.
