  1. Well I think I've found the replacement to my Nike..
  2. actually, .... the Vpro can be sent to Team Wendy's where the Champion can't anymore ..... (they don't/can't do it with velcro) Yeah, ok you're right. I didn't think of that. But still, the standard Champion padding (velcro or rivet) is still lower profile than TW or very very close in my opinion. You'd only be getting the retrofit for protection and not to have a sleeker CP.
  3. Payne is right, this it the only (non-catcher) umpire's throat guard that Mizuno makes. http://www.ebay.com/itm/MIZUNO-Umpire-Gear-throat-guards-guard-for-Mask-Baseball-from-Japan-/221229426295?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item33824d2677 You occasionally see it, some pro guys wear this one. The Spyder is all SSK.
  4. Damn! I got home too late.
  5. Because it's the off-season, that's why... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yeah Nick! Come on dude, it's "silly season" now.. Which means anything goes! Hell, we have a thread going on about poop spray!
  6. You could get virtually the exact same CP in the Champion version for $45-60 or so dollars these days. Even a little more lower profile with the newest model in the Champion that is out.
  7. YES! Seriously, this is your best test. If it sticks, you've got a magnetic metal like steel (Plausibly a Dynalite), if it doesn't stick however, it's plausibly a Titanium or at least another nonmagnetic metal. The only other option that comes to mind with any masks out there would be Magnesium, which is nonmagnetic as well. Make sure to use a decent magnet, something with a little dense and strength to it, because a little thin flimsy fridge magnet won't be as accurate, and may not stick to such a small thin tubular surface like a mask frame. Damn, I guess I did learn something in school...
  8. Let me know if you decide to sell the Wilson Ti.
  9. Definitely go with the NB460s. They're all-around great. The sole is extremely comfortable, good lasting sturdy shoe, solid protection, and on top of it all, they shine like no other. Great buy if you're in the market for some new plates, and it doesn't look as if any new shoes will hit the market next season. The 460s and Zigs should be the top two.
  10. First thing I spotted was Joyce in the Nike. LMAO! He used to wear a Nike with two-tones like in the picture, but now just wears the Wilson Ti with two-tones. He wore the Wilson all this year, and in Game 6.
  11. Exactly. SSK is just another major Japanese brand. You'll occasionally see some of their products in the US. My main baseball glove I've used for the last several years was an SSK.

  13. What the hell did I just watch?!
  14. Thank you for your 53 years! That is an incredible amount of time spent in baseball. Best of luck to you, and a speedy recovery.
  15. Welcome! Thanks for joining
  16. The Honigs and the Smitty "Carolina blue" or whatever they call it, the one that looks closest to the Honigs/MLB one, are spot on. I have both and have worn both with partners before and they match very well.
  17. Second. I didn't like it at first (on my WV gold) but after a while, I really got to appreciate how the fit was much better and snug to my body. I've heard the same thing with many other CPs, a lot of guys would recommend this harness too.
  18. Happy Birthday to me!

  19. I'll be attending TUS in January.
  20. I just wish I had baseball games to umpire!

  21. I saw that too, great positioning and setup by Joyce, even if he is 300+ away with two umpires in between him and the pole. He had a great game last night.
  22. I think you guys have his strike call wrong, Joyce doesn't simply call "Strike!" It's more like... STRAAAAAAAAHEEEEEEEEEEEEG! Heres about one of the only videos you can even find of Joyce that isn't about the blown call. Pretty clear and loud version.
  23. Amazing article. Jim Joyce has always been one of my favorite umpires ever, and might just be at the top.
