When you shake hands and meet each other at the begging of the game, they just mumble their name real fast with some pre rehearsed line about "how we'll be working together tonight," and then they shake your had with a weak, soft, women-like handshake. Like, I sure hope you can squeeze the ball better than my hand. If your abilities are like that handshake, it's about to be a long night, with a lot of D3Ks, and we will not be working together very good. Just tell me your name, shake my hand like a man, and catch the ball.

I'm sure there have been other topics like this, but I thought about this driving home from the fields last night, thought I would post a topic for it. CATCHER PET PEEVES All catchers have pet peeves of umpires, and are always willing to tell stories or complain. (Tight zone, Hand on back, trying to talk to them, etc..) But what are pet peeves WE, AS UMPIRES have for them? They can be our friend at times, protect us, and sometimes help us out, but them can also be our worst nightmare. Feel free to start posting your personal pet peeves that catchers do, and we'll see where this goes!

Most of the ones I've seen are all around the $400-$500 range too, the occasional $3-something you'll find. I had a guy offer me his for $400 on the spot, thought about it for a second, then realized I can get almost the same titanium frame from Wilson for only $198. (Then throw on TW pads, of course.)

It basically looks just like the all black 950s, just with the silver N (like on the white ones). Probably an exclusive option to the MLB guys, and/or a new model or prototype that could be available next season. Kind of a sharp look, I think. The all black looks very basic, though the black/white 950s some people do not like, or think they're too much. A good compromise with the ones featured in the video.

I have always read topics and forums on here, but from a guest standpoint just browsing the web, and finally decided to join the fun. I plan to upgrade to the Premium membership (for the extras and discounts), anyone have good advice of the best way to upgrade? I can only find info in the Store/Cart section. Anyways, I live in Wichita, KS working in KSHSAA baseball, along with being a full time league umpire in Wichita's premier youth baseball complex (6u-14u/HS). I work high school baseball, 18u/16u tournaments, and college showcases. I'm looking to move into even more HS ball next year and further myself as an umpire. I've just recently made the decision to attend The Umpire School in January 2014. I've very excited to travel down to Vero Beach and become an even better umpire. This is something I love and have a passion for, and I will let it take me wherever I can go. I'm a gear junkie and always looking to talk with fellow blues. Hope to hear from a lot of you and join in on discussions!
