A reminder that any piece of protective equipment isn't going to 100% guarantee you of not getting injured: Francisco Cervelli in tonight's Pirates-Orioles game took a foul ball directly to the mask wearing a Force3 catchers mask. While I'm sure the Force3 worked well, the ball had so much force behind it that I'm confident no mask could have protected him from this shot. He was removed from the game, but was able to walk to the dugout without any help. Stay safe out there guys.

Cervelli was put on the 7 day disabled list due to the diagnosed concussion. ............from the way I see it no Force3, no bucket, no Nike,  no titanium mask, and no TW padded mask was going to keep

And grabbing onto HPU's leg to steady himself for a few...   he looks as though he's out on his feet.

OUCH!!! That shot has concussion written all over it....if he passes the protocol then the F3 mask is well proven.

One of my friends took a pitch in an Indy league a couple weeks ago. He finished the game, but didn't remember it. He worked an 11 am game there the next day and afterwards, passed the protocol. 

 

There comes a point where no equipment will completely help - but it lessens it and hopefully, you don't take a ton of the really hard hits directly. If it can turn 6 concuss-worthy hits into less damaging ones, and you take 2 that not even the F3 can prevent, that's 6 less concussions and maybe a lesser concussion on the others, than you would've had otherwise.

Pretty awful camera work too, trying to get so close up to see how badly he's hurt. what an embarrassment, except the vultures have no shame.

Did anyone else see the Force3 promo going now? Just saw it on Facebook.

If you tag Force3 in a photo of a game where both MLB catchers are wearing a F3, you get 10% off your order. An extra 5% if you are the first to do so.

BUT.... if it is a game where both F2s AND the plate guy are rocking a F3 mask. It is 20% off for you for the day. And an extra 5% if you are the first to tag the photo.

So far the umpires I know of that wear it are Wegner and Winters. Possibly Hallion. But I am not sure. Also remember Wolcott wearing one his first year in the bugs before moving to his current rig.

As for catchers. The guy in Atlanta (why can't I remember his name) was the first to go full Force3 gear. Suzuki wears one as well as Cervelli. I know there are a few more. But none come to mind.

I took a shot to the mask on Saturday, and I'm still feeling it today. We don't have anyone to check us out, which is scary at times. 

On another note, how often do you change your mask pads? I have Team Wendy's, and have used the same pads for a couple of years now.

When you say "feeling it".... what kind of symptoms?   I agree w/ you on the 'scary' bit....  I got whacked good in a spring game, and let's just say that the silence and inattention from coaches, fans, and players was pretty unsettling.  I was completely on my own, the problem was my bell was rung good enough to where I began to wonder about some basic self-care steps.

A question about your TW pads:  were they somewhat soft or very firm when you first got them, and how are they compared to that first few days wearing them?

Feeling it as a headache, sore jaw and neck, but no dizziness or disorientation. My TW pads were and still are a bit stiff feeling, they are not soft.

Still a concussion. Last one I got was with my Diamond and TW pads. Had basically the same symptoms. 

Also never knew the TW pads could be soft except when they warm up.

Wegner just took a direct foul ball from Kris Bryant and shook it off like it was a fly.

He has taken quite a few this year since switching that would put most of us down.
