I was doing my shoes today and thought I would take some picks to show how amazing the Scrubbing Bubbles and Pledge can do.

Picture 2 is the before.

before the Scrubbing Bubbles I wiped off the excess dust and dirt with a dry wash cloth then the Scrubbing Bubbles.

Picture 1 is after just the Scrubbing Bubbles

Picture 3 is after the Scrubbing Bubbles and Pledge.

I think they look pretty good for a 5-10 minute job.  Sorry the photos are not great but you can see the progress and that the photos got mixed up.

I do the same thing.  They always look great.

I have those same shoes, and the laces look exactly the same (twisted as Fu*$).  I wonder why that happens.

My laces came like that...they are not twisted.  I think it is suppose to help the knot hold better.  Not sure.

I don't have that issue with the laces on my NB...I have boot laces waiting to place the crappy NB laces before they ever hit the field! I have had 3 pair of NB plate shoes and the laces broke on the first two mid way through season one...not taking that chance again...new shoes, new laces.

The laces that came with my NB lasted 1.5 seasons. I also bought boot laces as they seem to hold up better.

Have always had issues with New Balance shoe strings.  First year on my plate shoes and had to replace them after 5 games.

@Storm13 how the plate shoes came out of the game after cleaning it? A dust magnet?

@gnhbua93 I use the same process all season so the picture of the before want after a game.

Can you share how you apply the Pledge and bubbles? Do you spray it directly on the shoe or on a cloth?

The Scrubbing Bubbles is all directly on the shoes...leave it set for about 30 seconds (or usually enough time to put the spray on the other shoe or wipe down the first) then take a cloth and wipe off any extra.

The Pledge I will apply directly to the shoes as well but wipe down right after the coat of Pledge.  I then take the cloth and put a little Pledge on it to hit the tongue and smaller areas that may have been missed on the overall shine.

It takes me about 10 min. from the time I get the shoes out and start to wipe off the extra dust to then I am finished and putting them back in my shoe box.

Looking good. The nice part about these synthetic materials is that spit and polish ala natural leather is not necessary for a good shine.

I use a combination of Murphy's oil soap and water sprayed on and then wiped down with a damp microfiber cloth for a similar effect. I might have to start adding a bit of Pledge for that extra shine.

I need to pick up another set of boot laces as these shoes are 5 years old and on the original laces. I've had good luck with them but the plastic on the ends has broken off and it makes re-lacing them a real chore. These shoes are also getting close to retirement but I'm holding out until the new NB shoes are released.

Gentlemen , i have used several different cleaning methods or recipes as it were over the years with varying results . this past winter at an umpire camp i was introduced to a product that is by far the best product period , i have ever used . called "shoe MGK cleaner & conditioner " , you can find it on amazon or other online sites  . yes it is a bit $$ , but if will clean the white of your shoes unbelievably white , and restore/preserve the black leather  to a great shine . all you need is this 1 product period for all your sports shoes that you officiate in . for more info see the link below, dont buy direct from the manufacturer , there are good online deals from other sellers . btw any type of tennis (white) type shoe's you have , will look near new again after cleaning with this product  . throw away everything else this is all you need in your gear bag .

If you want to breathe new life into your plate shoes, try Angelus Roll Call military edge dressing to them.  It works unbelievably well!
