I still don't think the CA runner hit the TX first baseman intentionally, but this is definitely an intentional elbow.

So.....no response to my age comment? Lol B) Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

I thought it was funny that you used the comment, at your age, when we are basically the same age :-) Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

That's why I made the comment!  I'd probably blow a knee if I tried that move!

What the heck, I'll jump in:

(1)  I thought the U1 was the best base umpire I've ever seen (on TV...I've never seen a LLWS game in person) at Williamsport.  Even just the body language he gave off when nothing in the game was happening was outstanding

(2)  The elbow was intentional and deserved an immediate EJ at any amateur (and probably pro) level (including NCAA).

(3) The "leg slash" to me appeared unintentional when watching it live and nothing on replay convinces me otherwise.

(4)  Unless my memory is faulty, when the PU called F2 over to the CA dugout to have a three-way discussion with F2 and the CA head coach about F2's behavior...it wasn't just that F2 had held a pitch for a long time after it was "balled".  As I recall, F2 also removed his helmet and turned around to the PU to complain.  And this all happened after F2 had "held" several other pitches that inning.  I don't know about Williamsport, but if an F2 did that at the legion world series, and I did not eject him, there's a good chance that I would not be invited back to umpire another ALWS...ESPN be damned.  F2's actions were bush and deserving of an EJ.

And as I understand, you can only umpire the LLWS once.  So, if they do tell the umpires not to eject anyone (and I don't know if they do or don't)...I wouldn't give a damn that they had told me that.  What are they going to do, tell me I can't come back next year?  Personally, I'd have warned F2 to knock it off the first time he held a pitch that inning, and then I would have tossed him once he took the mask off to start arguing.

In my career, I've had two ejections in an American Legion regional tournament semi-final game, two in a regional championship game and one in a high school state championship game.  So, I'm not just blowing smoke on an internet message board.  I don't give a damn how "big" a game it is (remember, every game is a "big" game to someone): when they have to go, they have to go.

If the kid had been told to knock it off, and/or warned that if he continues he's gonna get tossed, I'd have no problem with an EJ. I just don't think a national semi final game, tied in extra innings with a 1-2 count is the time for a scolding/lecture/"learning moment" between the umpire, player and HC
