I saw that play last night live and was intrigued by it.

 

I guess the ball beating the runner is no longer a good mantra on the MLB level

Obviously not related to the call at 3B, but I'm wondering is that standard movement before a pitch, I thought umpires usually hover in the slot and then get set as the delivery gets started, looks like he doesn't get set until right when the pitch is released...
