2 CI's in one game .... same batter!

I think I had 2 of these all season .......... here, Fletcher gets 2 in one game!   Both with Ellsbury at bat ....

p.s. ... I didn't know AF was a southpaw ?!?

I liked how they didn't call time until the tag at first.

That batter needs better coaching. Like a batter should always swing at a balk, batters should always run after CI.

Jacoby Ellsbury tied the MLB record with his two CIs in one game. Besides Ellsbury, there are five other known instances of a batter being awarded first base on a catcher's interference twice in one game:

 Pat Corrales did it twice for the Reds in 1965 (August 15 and September 29). The others were Ben Geraghty of the Phillies back on April 26, 1936 and also two Mariners: Dan Meyer on May 3, 1977 and Bob Stinson on July 24, 1979.

Roberto Kelly holds the single season mark with eight CIs in 1992 with the Yankees. The NL record is held by Dale Berra of the Pirates in 1983 with seven. (Interestingly, Berra never got another in his career.) The career record is held by Pete Rose with 29 awards of first for catcher's interference.
