Protested game

A game was protested and later that night they decided to play the game the next night. One of the coaches claimed that the umpires must remain the same unless injury or sickness. Is that a rule you have heard of or did he make that rule up?

Typically the umpires are offered the game however if they take the game or not may be related to what age level your working and other assignments as well as securing the appropriate permissions from SWMBO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Could be a local rule.  The issue is that if a new crew is brought in, they will want to get paid.  The original crew that misapplied the rule that resulted in the protest would likely need to complete the game without being paid an additional game fee to do so.  It's all about the Benjamins.

I'd love to see a Benjamin for one game!

That's a LL rule, not sure about other books....

The simple solution is not to replace them, continue without the ump. If that means one man, then so be it..
