Anyone have and use +pos jackets? Do they run small like their shirts? Does sleeve length run short or long? They have some on the website that look nice enough and the prices are great. I'm a big guy and it's hard to find jackets that fit well. Hard to find them long enough for my 38 sleeve length.

Torso length is more my issue with them and I am far from tall. It is enough, but my smitty, honigs, and Majestic all seem to be cut longer through the torso. 38 is a hard sleeve length to find in anything I am guessing, but my +pos has enough arm length for me and I am a 34/35 sleeve length on shirt guy.

I bought the pos navy jacket with red stripes three years ago. It fit perfect .  I have had no problems whatsoever with my pos jacket. I would recommend it to anyone as long as it is the same one I bought three years ago

Why steer clear of  +pos jackets. I have never had one issue with +pos and have been buying from them since 1995. Not one issue.

I have several +POS jackets that I'll be donating to my local Little League field. The older models aren't bad, but......

Once you slip on a Majestic Thermabase, you'll understand why.

The +POS jackets that I do have, with the charcoal inserts, do run long in the sleeves, and long in the waist. The model number is MLC 23, and they're from the old batch of jackets. They tuck in (if you like the style), and the gray matches your pants and looks pretty sharp. They're not bad for $40.

That said, mine haven't been worn since I got the Majestic, thus the upcoming tax deduction.

In my experience, the +POS jackets were ill fitting and very, very thin.  Cheaply made is the term that comes to mind.  I echo what kylejt said about the Majestics, Smitty jackets are good too.

I've got the majestic, but it's too hot for me to wear behind the plate for 99.9% of games here in Mississippi. Wore it last night for the JV game in the field and was perfect. 41 degrees at game time. Since my Smitty sleeves are 3 inches too short when wearing my chest protector, I wore the majestic on the plate for varsity. 37 degrees at game time. I was a sweaty mess after 7 innings. Just looking for something thinner with long enough sleeves. I'm going to give the +pos a try. I'll report back with the findings.

my +POS is about 15 years old, bought from another member on this board.   +POS was supplying MiLB at that time and my jacket was the consumer/amateur version of the same jacket.

Best jacket ever.    Someone said they are thin, and mine is definitely thinner, and that is why I like it.   My Smitty jacket is lined and thus thicker, and my +POS is not, and I prefer no lining.   I can always layer up.

Now, I am not sure I would want to spend $40 to find out if the quality was still there, especially with the issues +POS has had these last 4 years.   I have gotten some really good and some really bad shirts from them in that period.

Like Steve says, the older, or New Old Stock, +POS jackets are quality garments. They're the ones with the labels in the collar, like the one in the picture. (I think that model may be the last of the NOS stuff). I've got a couple of Navy ones that are going to the LL field, and are very nice jackets.

The newer stuff just hasn't worked out for Dan. And that's a shame because the +POS brand was equated to quality, back in the olden days. Shoes, pants, shirts, coats and accessories were all top notch. Dan attempted to replicate those items with lesser quality knock-offs of his own family's products. It hasn't work, unforunately.

I still buy the scrapper plate brushes, though, as they're the best on the market. Thin, light, solid, and the back edge is great for cleaning mucky plates, or gouging mud off your shoes.

Kyle,

I am pretty busy to having things not working out for me…Are you telling me the 15-20 hours a day I have been working and the boxes I have been shipping is a dam day dream perhaps?. . I don’t understand your opinion that my products are knock offs. I keep reading you carrying on saying the same thing over and over every year You type a few lines of nonsense that has no basis and I have to spend a few hours or more to reply and correct you. I am starting to wonder what your intensions are??

So I type this big dam essay that took hours, copy it, paste it to spell check it.. and notice you put little to no effort to insult me  On top of insulting comments Its even more frustrating especially when you cant spell or use spell check.. IN no way am I being a keyboard snob. I type finger by finger and I I am a meat head that benches 405. I hope next year when you say the same thing you said all the other years you spell correctly..

I try to ship everything same DAY with 2-3 Days delivery...Process Returns and exchanges same Day I receive. It’s the busy time of year and that’s when I am most efficient getting product out. Its even more busy for me my wife and I just had a new baby girl a few months back. (3 daughters all under 5 I’m in trouble) So have to keep on top of things or get inundated pretty quick..  Which is better then the alternative- In Between seasons slow and no matter how many cups of coffee I drink, its not the same as the phone ringing constantly to get running around knocking work out.

Shirts- I had one bad shipment a few years ago, where the material had no elasticity and was not soft. It was with only some of the shirts. The pre-production samples were approved and were what I had anticipated. When I got the shirts they were not what I had ordered and realized that when people called and complained. I have some people that still like the shirts because they are durable.  I put the shirts on sale until they cleared for like 9-15 bucks.  Relieved they are gone and that nightmare is over. None of the Black Shirts were part of that fiasco because I ordered separately from another factory which is my current factory.  It’s a hard situation to work through I know some other companies had to deal with the same issue. The New shirts in all colors I have gotten in a few years ago are the best +POS has ever had, and are durable soft and 4 way stretch with heavy duty collar and cuffs.  They are very cool and comfortable as a mesh shirt WITHOUT the holes and the shiny appearance that some guys don’t like. So, many feel Like these are a defiant upgrade and at the current sale price of $19.95 best shirt you can buy for all the colors. I have them in-stock except for the cream that is sold out, the pink and the majestic style which I will be getting in shortly!

Full-zip-Jackets- Pull-overs     Last year I got new full zip Jackets in and a lot of people Love them. Water proof shell fleece lined for $49.95.  I was trying to make a jacket that was as good as or better than the Majestic for a more affordable price. I am making tweaks and upgrades constantly to products.

Pullovers- I copied another vendor’s jacket they copy off little me so I copy too. Why not. So I don’t know how my jacket could be poor quality..I had a few that I received that were miss-sized and I corrected the problem. It’s a pull-over meant to cover layers.  People like them and they are half the $19.95-$29.95 price of the same coats at somewhere else ..$59.95..

Pants- I only carry the Charcoal for now in Combo Pleated and Un-pleated in a wool-poly-rayon. I have not had any complaints or returns for the pants for any reason not even 1 clip or clasp. The material is breathable wrinkle free and wears well. Every Year I sell couple hundred to the umpires in South America and they are worn in the Pan American Games. I have not had to many request for heather grey

The +POS plate shoes are hard to have made the popularity is not the same as it once was. The minimums to produce the shoe are more than the demand-I’m still trying but Its not looking good. GD sports copied our shoe back in the Day and I noticed they have not been selling it either. It’s a heavy shoe that lasts a long time. I had some light weight umpire shoes made with a met-guard that sold very well last year. I have talked to some of my customers that bought the shoe and they love em their holding up great and I did receive a few that the leather popped at the met guard. I will get some new ones in that the problem should be fixed.

Just wanted to report back on the +pos jackets I purchased. I got the pullover with 1/4 zip in both the navy and black. They are open bottom with a drawstring. I think they are great, just what I was looking for. I ordered a size up from my normal size, but it wasn't necessary. The material is nice and seems to be durable. I have found it to be perfect for a cool Mississippi spring evening. The body and sleeves are both plenty long for my 6'6" frame and 38 inch sleeve length. Stays tucked in nicely behind the dish. I only paid $50 for both jackets. I am quite pleased and would certainly recommend them. I had great communication from +pos on the order and received the package pretty quickly. I'll be doing business with them in the future.

@Dan dada (or anyone else) - How do these shirts run sizewise - big, small, normal?

Thank you.
