I am going to start by saying I know this is mostly a baseball site, I do mostly softball, I am currently in the middle of a very frustrating situation with Honig's.

I have been assigned a few college softball dates this year, I have called a few college scrimmages, and have worked hard to get the call for "real" games.

So, we have to wear NAIA logo shirts and hats, I placed my order over 3 weeks ago, giving myself time to make sure the new hats and shirts fit, and everything is good to go for the season.

Now on to my frustrations, the day after I placed the order I received a call from Honig's saying they have to send the shirts out to be embroidered and they will ship them within a week.  A week and a half goes by and I have not heard anything or received any shipping info from them, so I place a call, and am told they will be done and shipped NEXT week.  Ok, so now at this point it has been 2 1/2 weeks.

Today, over a week later, I called to enquirer about the status of my order, once again I get that they will be done NEXT week and am asked what date I need them by so they can have them done...  Being a somewhat of a smart*** I told her I needed them by February 2nd, thinking that would give them time to ship them to me.  She immediately told me they wouldn't be done by then, why did she even ask???

It is frustrating to be getting the run around about a hat and shirt order, you can't tell me I am the only one in the nation ordering shirts with the NAIA logo on them.  The lady I have spoken to on the phone says they can't ship from their other regional offices/warehouse, the product has to come from the region that I am located in.

Rant over.

Only issue I have ever had is in some of the quality of their shirts from a couple years ago. I ordered two of the same kind of shirts and they sent me to completely different shirts in size and material. I immediately sent them back and have ordered fro UA ever since. But now I need new pairs of polywool pants and have a gift card. So, thankfully, the local Honigs office is only a hour away from me. I will be driving down to get them as I feel that the gas spent to physically touch what I am buying out weighs the convenience of shipping.

They need a serious upgrade to their website.  It looks like it was designed by a middle school student in the early 90s.

What NAIA conference are you working and why are they requiring NAIA jerseys?

GPAC, assignor said all officials must wear NAIA logo shirts and hats.

I'm the baseball umpire supervisor in the MCAC and got a memo from the conference saying the NAIA is NOT requiring this in any sport. Earlier we got a memo saying they were required, but that's been changed. I was going to say if you were in the MCAC I'd contact the SB supervisor.

Surprising...I've never had any experience with Honigs that wasn't spectacular.  I'm fairly certian that the College Station shop has an in-house embroidery machine.  If I place an order on a Tuesday at 2pm, it is on my doorstep on Wednesday afternoon...every time.

While I love the guys at Honigs in College Station, orders take forever...especially involving embroidery. They did their own for a few years but now have gone back to having it done on the outside. Ordered a TASO hat and a shirt on the 22nd. Got them on the 30th. TASO logo is not centered and a little crooked. I miss the days when my orders got here next day and were correct. For me, TASO hats have been the biggest culprit of issues. Even when they did work in house it seemed to take forever.

My guesstimation, is that they are trying to wait to see if they get more orders and send them to all get embroidered at the same time.  Which to an extent is ok, if they would tell me that, but the on going "it will be next week" is getting a little old.

I just got done telling someone representing a business that if they are going to tell me something, all I care about is that it's the truth. I will adjust to whatever the truth is, as long as it's the truth.

As a people, we accept and absorb so much bull$hit that more and more layers of this society---especially in business---think that it is perfectly okay to lie and misrepresent and sucker people. I'm not singling out Honig's, I'm stating that as Americans, we will believe anything, and buy anything, so we leave the door open to all forms of deceit.

Anyway, I have to go. My wife wants me to go buy her some of that hideously expensive crap they market as teeth whitener that doesn't really whiten teeth.

Whenever I order gear, and know I need it by a certain date, I always make that clear in my order.

"IF THERE'S CHANCE THAT THIS WILL NOT BE DELIVERED BY XX/XX, PLEASE CANCEL THIS ORDER NOW"

This has never failed me, even with the +POS and The Official's Choice.

Same thing for me. I try to order early or mid December. If I wait til after the 1st of the year I'm lucky to get conference stuff in time.

Well, I placed a fairly large order for our hs association on Monday and received it Tuesday. Honestly I had no idea it would get here so quick. Had it all handed out by yesterday evening. Thank you Honigs.
