Guys,

I was watching the Reds-Mets game today and noticed Phil Cuzzi's shoes today. I have noticed a couple other guys wearing the same pair (I believe Guccione was wearing them last night).

They look different than the current shoes on the market for NB and I was wondering if anyone else noticed. Figured they might be prototypes.

Thanks.

You would think with all the money they make they could each have their own pair and not need to share.

Maybe this is a way to save on travel -- keep the heavy shoes at each stadium and you don't need to travel with them.

It basically looks just like the all black 950s, just with the silver N (like on the white ones).

Probably an exclusive option to the MLB guys, and/or a new model or prototype that could be available next season.

Kind of a sharp look, I think. The all black looks very basic, though the black/white 950s some people do not like, or think they're too much. A good compromise with the ones featured in the video.

The NB 1000 is the shoe I use on the bases and it is by far the most comfortable shoe I have worn on the field.

I have the 950's mid black & white

I have the 950's mid black & white

Where did you get them?

You can order them directly from New Balance on their web site.  I almost did until I realized there was nearly a $20 price premium over what I could get the B/W low-cut shoe for from Ump-Attire.

Amazon has the mid-cut 950s available in black/Grey and both color options of the low cut. They are prime eligible, so if you are a prime member...no shipping.

Priced a little higher than UA, but an option none the less. I really like the look of the mid-cut with the white in them. Might have to get a pair.

How do you like the 950's? I had the 995's and hated them...they were hard and un-supportive.

I like them, they are very light and so far quite comfortable.  I am now a full convert to NB after years of wearing Reebok.  My next pair will be mid-cuts.  Also worth considering is the 1000 from NB.  U-A featured them on their Facebook page today (they are considering carrying them) but you can get them direct from NB for $75 now.  They are supposedly built like running shoes, from the pictures it looks like they have a less aggressive sole than the 950's though.

UA had the lows with the silver n not the mids... In order to get the mids I'm told you have to order direct from new balance... I would love a pair of the 950s in black and white in a mid guess I will have to call NB direct... What would even be better should be the zigs in a mid... Wonder if Reebok is looking at this thread...

Don't mean to bunp an old thread, but what kind of fields do you use these shoes on? Turf only? Very short grass? It seems like grass on most fields where I work would be too long for them, but very close cut infields might be very good fields to use this shoe on.

Thx

They do. I normally wear a size 10  1/2 EEEE. With these shoes I ordered a size 11 EE and they fit perfectly. And man are they comfortable.

Let me try again, I don;t want to beat a dead horse, but has anyone every wore 990's on the field? Did you have trouble with cuts or pivots when you wore them?

Thanks!

You don't want, but you did.  :Horse::BD:
