Anything would be better than the cheesy padding in my Platinum. Sure, the plastic parts have moulded to my exquisite physique, but the padding is lacking. If I can get this stuff loaded in my WV, I'm golden.

I'm sure it weighs more than the original, but it is heavy?

This may also inspire me to make that carbon fiber rig that All Star wouldn't. Now we're talking. Anyone have an unclass number for the Skunk Works?

I personally don't like the way TW feels on my face. I prefer doeskin.

I dont think the TW pads like the feel of your face on them!

I have a beard and it pulls. I'm a sensitive kinda guy.

No one noticed that Rapuano had the throat guard taken off of his Nike mask?

Good point. Wonder why he did that????

I think DJ Reyburn did it also ....

You add a throat guard to the bottom of the mask, ala a Mizuno (Alfonso Marquez)

Man, I wouldn't mess with the structural integrity of a metal contraption like that. I'm sure that bottom loop plays a part in the the whole scheme of things. Just put your throat protector on the inner rung, inside that lower loop, and don't take a Dremel to your mask to save a couple of grams.

As long as you don't cut into the weld points, it should have no structural effects on the mask at all.

FWIW.....at my count there's over 20 MLB upmires that have replaced the padding on their Power/Gold/Platinum with custom Team Wendy pads. Several have done so on brand new Platinums before being worn.

Hey Fittske24, do you feel the Team Wendy addition to the Douglas CP eliminates the need for the extra shoulder gap protection as Rapuano suggested with his Power? Thanks.

I'm not Fittske, but ... I wouldn't go that far .........

The funny thing is that Ed's CP is not a power. It is one of the first WV Gold from the year 2000. You can tell because the shoulder flaps are much narrower in width than the current golds. I do like his red Riddel shoulder cups!

It's possible that the extra padding is not needed. The way the Wendy foam transfers the impact energy, it may not be needed.

Fitske - have you provided a review of the padding? Seems like we are all just gaggling over it. Im curious your thoughts and feedback on it.

Chris - didnt Riddell make Powers in Black also? Doesnt Marquez sport one?
