  1. I guess that was the question..... past editions of this product haven't exactly done the model justice. In retrospect we probably should have gone in a different direction in naming the product rather than just saying "new and improved". And I truly believe you should give your opinion. If you've had a bad experience with a product, speak up. Tell your colleagues, post reviews and most importantly, let us know. Thanks for the feedback Aaron
  2. With all due respect, I'm curious how long you've held this opinion. The 2013 version of ourUltimates are made in the USA by the same company making our Poly-Wool's. That was not the case in past years, and the improvement is significant. The color is more consistent, the hardware is a better grade, the base patterns the same, and the general worksmanship much better. Do they match the overall quality of our Poly-Wools? No, but you simply can't duplicate the feel of poly/wool in a 100% poly fabric. But they're certainly a much improved option compared to previous versions. ~Aaron Honig's Whislte Stop
  3. Understood. and please believe me, I know what "list" price is. It has some, but little bearing on what an item should be sold for....it's the starting point for determining wholesale cost to their dealer network. But regardless of what discount level a dealer might purchase something at, "list" is the same. Again, $79 is not a fair price...it's a very good price. So obviously $72 is even better. And Chris......I've got a buyer lined up if you want to make a package deal of that mizuno with your Power! LOL! ~Aaron
  4. FWIW, I made this particular decision. These are the version with the same removeable padding as the West Vest pro model. Wilson's list price $150, Suggested Retail is $119. We set our retail at $109, which is on the high side, especially compared to the discount baseball sites, but knock off an ABUA or NASO discount, and they're under $100. However, there is confusion when comparing, because Wilson made upgrades to this product but did not change the Stock #. A description will have the stock number as WTA3417, but a picture of the "old" style. I know Jim has them listed for $79.99, but he shows "list" price at $100, which lead me to believe it might not have been the same product. If it is, that's a very good deal. Shirts are going to be coming in late. Probably won't have them until the beginning of March. ~Aaron @ Honig's
  5. FWIW.....at my count there's over 20 MLB upmires that have replaced the padding on their Power/Gold/Platinum with custom Team Wendy pads. Several have done so on brand new Platinums before being worn. Aaron @ Honig's
  6. <<Michigan Store Location>> Everything (except starter packages) in the store will be at least 10% off catalog price - including Poly wools. Biggest markdowns will be on closeout items or goods we are discontinuing (ex. New Balance 995 & 450, Reebok Field Magistratee base shoes) and off-season items like basketball and football. We'll also have racks and/or boxes of factory seconds set out Truth be told we haven't come to a decision on other specific items we'll have marked down more than 10%. We'll be reviewing that tomorrow and making decisions based on our available inventory. Everyone making a purchase will be entered into a drawing for gift certificates. We also have a raffle for some bigger-ticket items that everyone will be eligible for. Hope to see alot of you Saturday......cross your fingers the rain holds off! ~Aaron @ Honig's
  7. Mike Winters and Ed Rapuano got the two new CC positions from the Reilly and Crawford retirements. Brian Knight and Scott Barry have been promoted to full time. There's still one spot available that will be filled before the start of the season. ~ Aaron @ Honig's
  8. Marty was in a car accident on the way home from the game Tuesday . Driver of another car had a heart attack at the wheel and ended up hitting him. Not terribly serious for Marty, but bad enough to sit out for a few games as a precaution. He should be back relatively soon. Manny only has a few games under his belt, so they put dropped him in at 3rd. Crew cheif can place the call-up guys anywhere in the rotation they want when they join a crews - he doesn't necessarily have to take the same spot as the guy he's replacing. Manny will travel with the crewto their next site and get his shot behind the plate on (I think) Saturday. Aaron @ Honigs
