For those that wear certification patches, do you apply a patch to your jacket as well as your shirt? My initial thought is no (at least permanently).

I've looked on the Babe Ruth (the patch I have) site and can't find anything stating that patch has to be on a jacket.

For most rec leagues like little league, Pony, and Babe Ruth Most uniform patches are only required for post season tournaments. Most often these tournaments are in warm weather months, so no jacket required. Now for college and high school games that usually occur in colder weather months, my association requires patches to be on all uniforms including jackets.

Whatever your association wants...:TD:

if you don't have an association, it's whatever is done locally or you can be a trendsetter.

I know that in JaxRolo's and my HS association they don't want a patch on the jacket-the hat is enough, and everyone assumes you have the patch on a shirt under the jacket (we just covered this in our meeting two days ago).

However, that's just one association. I'd find out what yours does and follow their lead, or if you don't have one, take LMSANS's advice and blaze that trail :TD:

Umpire patches aren't required for LL or PONY.

I doubt BR requires, either.

A local association, that covers those games might, so check with them.

If you have the option of wearing one, don't.

Our HS Association requires it.

That is why I use Aleene's Tack-It Over & Over glue on them.

I do not attach any patch to shirts or jackets permanently.

Does this leave any sort of mark or stain on the shirt?

In my area (Nova Scotia) the Umpire Association requires the Association crest on all hats, shirts and jackets.

None.

Might leave a little residue but it is a water soluble glue.

Take the patch off right after the game and it has always washed off for me.

Being the Gear and uni junkie that I am.........If I have a patch or number that needs to be on, I buy separate shirts and jackets for it.....

NJSIAA requires patches on all jackets and shirts for all HS games.

...and on the hat & ball bag (at $12 per) if they have their (NJSIAA) way.
