I know there's been a ton of talk about the dislike of the powder blue shirts. I recently received my order from baseballsavings.com that had 2 polo blue shirts in it and I was shocked. The shirt I owned was polo blue all along (Honigs). So my question is ---- What is the difference between the polo and powder color? Could someone post a picture of the two together so I can see the difference? I'm unable to pick up the difference looking at pictures online.

Since it came from baseballsavings.com, I assume the polo shirt you got was a majestic. The basic difference is, polo has a black collar and cuffs, and powder has the white and navy stripe on the collar and cuffs, and true polo blue is a bit darker in color than the powder. Beware, though, as all manufacturers will say they have polo shirts, but the shirts they sell as "polo blue" are actually powder blue with the black collar. The 2 manufacturers that have the best representation of the polo blue are Honigs and Majestic, which you have. Hope that helps.

BINGO!

And, just to clarify, ...the ONLY 2 manufacturers who have a TRUE POLO BLUE is , ...Honig's and Majestic....

The Official's Choice shirts (at least the ones I have) match the Honigs (and I haven't had problems with the buttons fading, or the collars ripping or ... whatever other issues others seem to have had with them).

The OC shirts that I have aren't even close to my Majestic, Honig's, Davis or Keen. The OC's are much grayer.

That said, I hate them all, as I don't think it's a good looking color.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but are you calling me a liar? If I took a picture of the shirts, it would look just like your comparison of the majestics and the honigs in the other thread.

You're not lying. If you were lying, I would have used the term liar or lie. You're simply not fully indoctrinated on what useless crap those shirts are, so your message comes off as B.S. (You know, useless is a strong word; they do a good job of wiping the soap off of my shoes. I've been using the same polo blue shirt for nearly a hundred shoe shines!) If you haven't had your buttons turn pink yet, well, wait for the sixth or seventh washing.

Your implied endorsement might make someone else throw their money away on something that is sorrily sub-standard and downright laughable in some umpiring circles. They're not as laughable as those charcoal briquette colored slacks, but they're close. If you go to a home plate meeting in a Majestic, which now cost as little or less than these Official's Choice collared shoe rags, you'll be truly matching any professionally attired partner. Go that route rather than feeding your cash to a classless, amateur outfit like Official's Choice.

The shirts are 3 or so years old. They've been washed more than 6 or 7 times, more like 60 or 70. They were bought at different times -- and they match each other and the honigs.

I do not like officials choice emails or many of the alternate colors. But, the shirts that I have I like.

I heard the Majestic Shirts are on clearance at baseballsavings.com......

I pride myself on being the first to break this exciting news!

Too late someone else already mentioned in another thread. :)

Congratulations are in order!

You are the first person to have his buttons remain unchanged. Seriously, EVERY used O.C. shirt I have ever seen or heard about from others has had their buttons turn purple and pink. Every navy, polo, black, powder, gray ...

You sure your wife didn't replace the buttons without your knowing it? :)

When I came back to Umpire last fall the first couple of shirts I bought were from OC. The buttons on the shirts have not changed at all. So I guess I am the second person! :D

Thank you.

It's certainly possible that the early versions had the non-fade buttons, then they swapped them out, then reverted back for whatever JaxRolo bought.

I'll have to check the black. I don't recall any fading, but I also haven't done a side-by-side comparison.

For what it's worth, I have had problems at various times with Honig's, Smitty, +POS (the old version of the company), Teamwork, and some other brand I can't recall.

I've too had problems with Honig's (sizing), Majestic (collar pilling), the new +POS (sizing, loose threads and overall poor quality), Official's Choice (well-heralded) and Cliff Keen (comfort, sizing and poor construction). And other than their vivid shade of polo blue, the only shirt that is problem-free for me up until this point is the Smitty brand of shirt. I kid you not.

Smitty needs to make two adjustments.

They need to make their pro trim on the powder blues match the Honigs and majestic.

And they need to make a pro trim gray shirt.

...then I will have no reason to buy a different brand.

And we can agree on minor things like this, too. :question1:
