If you've got anything....

I had NEVER seen a pic of myself either just in the uniform or actually doing a game before going up to CDP.

Here's a couple...I'm the plate guy for the Olde Tyme Umpires Game....let it rip.....have some fun at my expense....then post yours so we can bust each others chops!

Wristbands / Sweatbands; I'll take the beating on those....but I sweat like a pig on a spit.....I can hide them if wearing a jacket....pretty constant brow and head wiping on the bases....and pretty much whenever the bucket comes off when on the plate....thought it better than trying to stash a towel in a pocket...

The Olde Tyme; this is from about the 1930's...

That Old Tyme pic.... some of the guys in your crew look as though they've eaten all the Creamsicles! :) Looks like fun, though. Do they use the rules from the 1930s ?

Since you asked....

About 30 pix from a HS Varsity game last year.

Bonus question - what rule is the PU (that would be me) FLAGRANTLY failing to enforce?

By the way, nice pix. Who did them?

JM

All pics were from the photogs at CDP...

Bonus; no helmet on the base coach?

LHB batter poss out of the batter's box?

F2 is wearing a two-piece helmet/mask combo. I remember these pics from last year.

Close enough. A "two piece helmet/mask combo" is not per se illegal in FED, but the "Green" catcher's headgear was definitely "FED illegal", and that is the violation I was referring to.

Apparently, it was "invisible" to me during the game. But afterwards, looking at the pictures, it kind of "jumped off the screen" at me. Couldn't believe I hadn't caught it. Live & learn.

I didn't think I had posted any of these pictures here on Warren's site & just thought some people might like to see them when scuzzyfeller solicited pictures in his OP.

Well, I believe this is the only photo of me umpiring that exists:

JoeUmp.jpg

...and yes, I do know that my mask should be in my left hand - I keep working on it, but habits formed years ago as a catcher are hard to break!!!!

LOL!!! Back when there was more hair on my head, the hat "stuck" better. Now, even though it is a nice snug fit, it slides right up off my "extended" forehead! I just can't see using velcro as an appropriate alternative!!!!

I'm "follicly challenged" as well and the hat almost always comes off with the mask...

One of these years, I MUST take a week off and do the CDP thing. I's only about a 2.5 hour drive from home!!!!! Looked at it on google earth - what have they got - 22 fields?

I'm not real good at posting stuff... the photo is from a Legion Regional a few years ago. Rip away...

hehehehe.... awesome picture, and I don't see anything about mechanics, positioning, uniform or anything to rip on - but ,since we're looking for things to rip on here.....

the best I can come up with is: with the vein sticking out on the side of your forehead and the bright red face, I have to ask if your "real" first name is Bobby, and if you've ever coached NCAA basketball

Nice Pic Jim.

You must have made the right call because the Lady in the background is clapping!
