I went on the DL today. I have partially torn Achilles Tendon. I am on crutches and a walking boot. I tripped at work Suday and caused the injury. I figure to be off the field at least three weeks minimum.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, Mike...don't try to push to hard, it's very easy to cause yourself a setback with something like that. hope you get back out there soon :clap:

Michael, sorry,sorry. Perhaps there is an opportunity here. :shrug:Can you evaluate? Or run a mid-season rules/situation clinic for those willing to improve. Or my favorite--excessive indulgence in your favorite adult beverage.:clap:

Thanks for all the good wishes. It turns out it isn't as bad as originally thought, it is torn but not from the bone, just a tear along the length. The Dr says as long as it doesn't hurt I can walk on my boot. If it hurts go back to crutches. I am currently working a four day festival. I am supervising only. Everytime I go to touch something my employees yell at me.

I got everthing loaded in and went to site supervise at a local ball complex, get paid to watch ball. This afternoon was a JV baseball on one end, JV softball on the other. Through a mixup the softball played on a field that was being used for adult softball tonight so the rubber and bases had to be moved. Since that is tough in a boot, I convinced one of my baseball umpires to assist me. We sat around and BSed about the game, he hanged out and down to softball to changeover. They were not done. :rock:HS We waited and waited, finally pulled chairs out of my truck. They started at 4:00, finished at 6:29 with an adult game to start at 6:30. We are out locating the bases and I happen to see the HC with his girls having a powwow in the outfield. I told him to clear the dugout and find another meeting place. :smachhead: They started the next game at 6:41. Two other fields finished at 10:00, this one at 11:00. Every game went to time limit.
