here in southeastern oklahoma deer season starts the saturday before thanksgiving and runs thru the sunday after. all schools are out the whole week of thanksgiving for "fall break" but everyone knows that all the boys and quite a few of the girls will be deer hunting.

i'm a 34 waist in just about everything. i have 34s in both plate and base. they fit great and have a little wiggle room for extra layers when its cold.

then where are you? i use the GD stance and i am in the slot, just a bit deeper than most people are.

if the pitch is thrown to the catcher, it will be fouled away from you as long as you are between the batter and catcher. on the other hand, if you go outside the catcher then you will likely be hit by a foul ball

because he is still between the batter and catcher.

look at the videos again. foster is directly over molina's head not his left shoulder. the camera angle just makes it look that way. hirshbeck stays in the slot, he just moves it and himself with the catcher. the slot is that area on the inside part of the plate, between the catcher and batter that affords the umpire with the best view of the entire plate. by moving out with the catcher you are still protected unless for some reason the pitcher can't hit that outside spot.
