The link you provided has a bunch of videos - do any of them show you working? I looked at a few of them. Saw some good 4 man rotations going on!
-
The reason for all the confusion (I think) is because HPU called the ball fair. He must have thought F2 touched the ball. I did too until I watched it about a dozen times. Foul ball - no IFF.
-
What about passed ball plays at the plate? I think every one of those I have seen have been taken 1BLX. What do you guys do on these?
-
Where are all the HD super slo-mo multiple angle replays when you need them?
-
Tough to see, but in this screen capture, I don't think he's made a tag yet. Looks safe to me. I don't think this was an "expected" call, just a miss.

Did anyone see the obstruction call at the plate in the CA - TN game? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

I can't hear anything. Kemp claims all he said after the warning was, " Dre let's go." If you heard something different I'd sure like to know what it was.

Give my Nats some credit, will ya!

She's not alone! :D

Another reason OBR is the MOST complicated :-)

That's former major leaguer F. P. Santangelo (see the Mitchell Report) providing the color for my Nat's. He's no Vin Scully, but I can listen to him. He's definitely a homer, but not in a Hawk Harrelson way. -
And the necklaces. :)

"That is blinkin' fertilizer!"

I'm a Nats fan - he definitely dropped it on purpose! If Reyes would have just caught the ball and fired to second, he might have had the DP. I think it wound up costing the fish 2 runs.

Just sharing an article from the local paper regarding the Valley League (local NCAA Summer Wood Bat League). A rain-shortened playoff game was declared over - the winning team in that game goes on to be the eventual League Tournament Champion. Some think the called game should have been played to completion, but the rules were correctly applied. http://www.newsleader.com/article/20120804/SPORTS/308040029/Game-decision-major-mistake?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|Frontpage%20DontMiss|s

corecontrarion.blogspot.com usually posts something every day related to baseball history, along with other (mostly humorous) tidbits of info regarding baseball.

I have a pair that I have worn twice. I don't like the knobs on the soles. Interested in those at a good price?

I don't have my BR rule book with me, but the wording is along the lines of the runner can't contact the catcher with the obvious intent of dislodging the ball. No specific MC mention in BR - deal with it as Unsportsmanlike Conduct. Rich, I like your explanation for OBS. I'll remember that.

Watch the first pitch and listen to the commentary

Jim Palmer was a player on my all time favorite baseball team - '66 Orioles. But he is not one of my favorite broadcasters. -
I have met and dealt personally with Terry. He is a straight-up guy. He always had some tables set up at our mandatory VHSL rules clinic every year and I could count on picking up something I needed. He always had some specials and you could try something on to see if it fit (which helped me out when I bought NB shoes because they don't run true to size). Sadly, we have gone to online rules clinics so I won't get to see him like before. I haven't visited his website in a while - it could stand a little classing up, but he is very customer-friendly from my experience.

http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=22606503&c_id=tor&partnerId=aw-6452581384664526833-996 I learn a lot from these videos - mostly from things that go wrong that I don't want to happen to me. But here is an example of something going right that I enjoyed watching. A casual observer probably wouldn't even notice, but we ump types do! U3 goes out, PU rotates up to third, U1 rotates home, and makes a great adjustment for the tag. Poetry in motion!

Saw it last night when it happened. I was just getting ready to post - you beat me to it! Here's a link to an article: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120619&content_id=33603304&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb It was a "significant amount" of pine tar. Peralta used to pitch for the Nats, so apparently they had "prior knowledge." A little gamesmanship by Davey Johnson - Maddon called him a coward after the game.

I got one to start the season this year and haven't had this problem.

I got this in my blog feed this morning - thought it was humorous. It's from Contrary Guy, a blog of "Alternative Baseball Thoughts." Here's a link to the blog if you're interested: http://corecontrarian.blogspot.com/2012/06/gene-desautels.html Born on today's date, Gene Desautels. "Gene Desautels, then a rookie catcher with Detroit, was a cocky young fellow and was giving umpire Cal Hubbard a hard time. On a play at second, Desautels slid in and Hubbard called him out. I think Hubbard was hoping Desautels would complain so he could trow him out of the game, too. Desautels said sweetly, 'You can't call me out.' Hubbard blustered, 'Oh, no? Why not?' 'Because I'm sitting on the ball.'" - President of the American League and former Red Sox manager Joe Cronin when asked by the Senate Antitrust Subcommittee if he'd ever seen a player win an argument with an umpire.
