Wilson Platinum CP, and SHOCK FX 2.0 STILL AVAILABLE
BaltimoreUmpire replied to BaltimoreUmpire's topic in Buy, Sell or Trade
I am dropping the prices drastically! I need the space badly for my gear closet I have no space for these items any longer, for only $100 plus shipping costs you can have the Platinum and the Wilson Shock FX 2.0 Silver Addition -
If you had a chance to work for a day with 1 mlb umpire(can be a AAA callup) who would you work with and why? I'll start, I'd work with either Ed Hickox because well he's just cool, Tom Hallion for the entertainment value of his strike 3 call, or Bob Davidson because he is the only guy I can be 100% certain would make me look like a great umpire by comparison
-
He outfits most umpires in this region, he said everyone does it that way, none of my tournament partners corrected me buckling that way, plus all the catchers here do it that way,
-
I was told buckle inside by the local sporting goods store owner,
-
Ok thanks guys

Am i misunderstanding this, are we not allowed to toss fans? Im not sure if thats what you mean
-
I love the champion, its the exception of the "you get what you pay for" rule, only reason mines a backup is because the +POS CP has won me over, i will never use a softshell id sooner go behind the mound then take that risk
-
Well I talked to the guy who assigns all games 13 and over around here and he said "baseball grey" anyone know which that would be?

The Platinum is still for sale, it is the 12in platinum -
I used the protector today, and as expected it didnt get touched at all, i did take a shot to the cup which i almost couldnt find thank goodness i did, although most of the shot hit my hand which i guess by insticnt came in to block the groin, well anyways great protector, works great very protective, say what you will but Plus Pos always responded to me quickly i returned this cp once because i couldnt get it to fit he refunded my money but asksd me if he could adjust it and send it back for me to try(thats why i got the other stuff) it fits now and i told him to recharge me i like it and will keep it, oddly that is the one he has yet to respond to, which is odd you think he would be on top of collecting,

PIAA says "light grey" i assume that means heather grey, im not in piaa but they set the standard for pa, also(although this doesnt matter i can wear this for my league) they dont allow black shirts(again i can wear them im not piaa)
-
I'l find out, or just go one of each if i have to, use whichever isnt the standard in solo games
-
Hmm...Was he throwing at that kid intentionally?

Don't you just hate it when members Hijack a thread?i dont really care, just an odd topic for this forum -
I'll pay twice what kresto offers, my nevermind took a bowling ball to the face yesterday

I think it's more likely that they would say, "Look, we have a REAL umpire today!" As has been said many times, looking professional helps you get through the first 2 or 3 innings - take advantage of that.In rec ball i get that alot, normally a parent has to do the games from behind the mound because the league has no gear, when i show up in a real umpire shirt and real pants, and wearing hear UNDER my clothing they seem to be oddly impressed, i get alot of "good game blue" from them even if i thought i sucked, i guess my poor games are still good compared to what they normally get
-
i will be buying "real uniforms" this winter i already have a light blue and a navy shirt, ill admit i had already bought the shorts but have yet to use them, saw them on umpattire so i thought they would be ok, but afterwards i decided to ask for opinions, thank goodness i never used um, ill probably just use them as normal shorts not umpire shorts, i am ordering umpire pants and more shirts soon. I thought heather grey was the standard color though?
-
Here we get assigned plate/bases but you can ask for one over the other most guys try to get the bases which works for me because i get more plate work then

I think he was preventative moderating
-
thanks, thats why i asked, I honestly didnt know its my first year in a uniformed association
-
Thats why i asked, because I didnt know if it was ok or not cant really know this without asking
-
What wearing shorts? or the sunburn?
-
I was planning to, why? Seems wise to wear them
-
Ok I wanted to get the opinion of some other umpires on this, I am considering buying the shorts in the link at the end of this post to use in hot 10U rec games where I work alone, honestly I have no clue if these are "ok" or not, I would never dare consider these for games where I work with another umpire or in a league with other "reputable" umpires working in it, but in this rec league normally they don't even get umpires for their games, nobody wants them normally. What is the opinion are these "ok" or not? I have no idea https://www.ump-attire.com/Baseball-Umpire-Equipment/Clothing-Apparel/Pants-Shorts/K17-N_Dalco-Navy-Umpire-Shorts?id=236
