No players. I actually found Al on Facebook, and let him know that I thoroughly enjoyed his book. I like on how he included every ejection he ever had in MLB, and he was brutally honest on what he did off the field.

I can't even sign in to here from Tapatalk. I use Facebook and can't do diddly squat with this site using Tapatalk.

@Majordave I'll send you a message when I'm finished. I also think I spotted an error, I'll research that and write to them if I'm correct. (Regarding baseball, I'm right 99.5% of the time.)

I just started reading this book, came out this year. Written by Al Clark and Dan Schlossberg. Both autographed it, if anyone would like to read it when I am finished with it, let me know and I'll ship it out. Book review when I am finished reading.

On or off the field, if I have a punch thrown at me, I'll declare the game over and defend myself to the fullest extent of the law.

I had a game last night, in between innings on my field when I see MC on the other field (not called by the ump there) followed by the F bomb dropped by the defensive HC. I signal the field coordinator to go to that field and tell the HC to get lost, and the ump that I could hear that clear over here. I talked with my assignor last night and told him about what happened, he said that it's the responsibility of the ump there to file a game report.

Batter continuously benefiting from Catcher Interference

Next time he tries that with you as PU, he'll learn that he overdrafted the luck bank. -
Don't feel bad, I don't have such a glamorous job either. DDS Clerk at Mars 2 and a YouTube host on a collab channel every Friday. I might go into poker professionally, as a player and/or dealer. MD has a zero online gaming law though, so it'll have to be live play. If I ever get into the WSOP-ME, I'll wear an umpiring uniform when I make the money. PU or BU?

Mine was solo, so I had dinner at McDonald's.

Tucker, it depends on the level. In youth ball, I'm ejecting for any swear word, at any volume. Do you mean that if direted at you, or heard at all? Kid catches his cleats in his laces, face plants, and blurts out something? Last night, I had an assistant coach use a certain word (just me, HC, and him there) before the game. I tell him that if he says that during the game, he's done. Nobody else heard what was said. I did need to clear a basketball court near my ball field 2 weeks ago because someone said F*** that loud enough for me to hear. HTHC told them to get out. (Later found out that he's retired BCoPD (Baltimore County Police).)

My association rules call for the ball to be dead, runners return to bases at TOP, BR out. If thrown with intent to injure, BUBYE!

2007 (my first year as an umpire): R1 and R2, 0 out, forgot the count. B hits a rocket, F6 catches the ball while stepping on 2B, runs down R1 before tossing to F3. A banger, but the ball beat R1 to 1B by 1/2 step. I call it "OUT!!!" Nobody moved, so I announce 3 outs and bang HP, 2B, and 1B. Only triple play I've ever had.

They touch me in protest to a call: BOOM! They strike (or attempt to) in protest of a call: "Hello, police?"
-
Oh well. Kid should have known not to do it. As my old Brain Warp toy once said, "This game is finished."
-
Time for him to pay up. OBR rules, so he's dead wrong. It's like trying to beat a Royal Flush in Hold 'Em, you can't do it.

@JaxRolo When the coaches saw me walk onto the field, they knew to not argue with the 3 Ps or they would be tossed. (I didn't have to EJ anyone this time though) As for the game, I had a few questions on close pitches (all balls, most just off the plate in/out) and two close plays (one at 2B - out and one at HP - out). Both times the VT HC came out and questioned it, I explained my angle and they left me alone. All in all, not bad. I had to make change for a $100 bill, which I hate to do.

Heading home last night, assignor calls me up and asks if I can do a Friday night game. I accept and ask him if any rule changes are posted. He tells me that thye make up the rules as they go. Anyone have any advise for me? First official travel game, solo again.....

Anyone read OBR? 1.01 is outdated. Nine players each, one manager? C'MON MAN! As Jim Evans asked, "Well what about the Designated Hitter?" PS: Sorry for reviving this thread.

My Strike 3 call is about 125 decibels. As far as I know, loudest in MD. I was told that a game at the local high school was deep in extras and they could hear me at the elementary school about 3/4 mile away.

Have someone film your next few plate games and you look at them afterwards. I'll be doing that soon, I want to make sure my slot mechanics are 100%.
-
I only announce outs when asked or there is a long delay (weather, ect)
-
I'll be happy to join you! What crew are we going with? 3-6 man? Sign me up! 2 man? I'll keep score and should there be an injury, I'll take bases.

My viewers must have watched it. I'm trying to get MLB's permission to do a video series on OBR rules using their videos, but no response so far. If I do, would any of you like to offer your opinion on these subjects?
