I have a couple of questions for the admin: 1. The search function doesn't seem to work as it used to. There is no button to search "forums" anymore. I was trying to search and typed in the word "Wilson" and received no results. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is there a glitch that isn't allowing me to search? 2. Whenever I click on a new topic to read, it automatically goes to the last post of the thread. Is there any kind of setting that I can change that will default me to the first post in a thread? This isn't a big deal, it's just kind of annoying. Thanks for your time and help!!

If in your judgement, he attempted to hit a pitch, it is a strike. If you don't believe the batter attempted to hit the pitch (and it is outside of the strike zone), then it is a ball.

Sounds like we have another RAT parent here. This parent probably coddles the $hi+ out of his kid and doesn't teach him right from wrong. I see them all the time. We had a kid at school commit a strong armed robbery (forced the kid to give up his wallet) and had it on video. The parents (when they saw the video) didn't think it was a big deal. I wonder if "proud parent" is the same person??? Oh, and "proud parent", you have nothing to be proud about, unless you take pride in your douchebaggary.

Yes, but they can't delay the game after the offensive conference breaks up. He better be hustling off the field as the batter is heading back to the box. Any delay of more than 10 seconds and I'm hitting him with a defensive conference.

If this is the professional interpretation, and the game you are calling are using OBR, why would you NOT apply it?

I would probably say that it wasn't obstruction, because I'd have a hard time explaining to the coach that it was. The book specifically states a "fake tag" is obstruction, not the situation you explained.

In NFHS Rules (High School Rules), that umpire is correct, and the video you posted should be called an illegal pitch. However, that pitching stance is legal in NCAA and MLB (OBR).

Tell your batters to stay put in the box when R2 is stealing third and you should be fine.

When you say he "starts in the set", does he take the rubber with his hands together? If so, that's a balk.

I'm amazed at how little coaches know about the rules of the game.

He was pissed at the previous pitch. He said it hit him, but it didn't.

If I were you, I'd teach him the proper way to pick someone off from the set position. There is no reason to teach a kid to wind up with runners on base. Plus, he'll be in high school in a few years and that move he worked on since he was 12 will become illegal. Teach him the traditional, proper way to throw to first. Just my $0.02

One suggestion: Refuse to do one man!

If Coach Warburton came out to argue this with me during a game, the only thing I would say to him would be: "Are you off your f-ing meds?"
