^^^^^^^^ There you have it.

I attended The Umpire School last year and unfortunately wasn't chosen. However I'm still chasing my dream and I'm attending a college camp in a couple of weeks to try and earn a job. Any of you guys have the experience of both and want to share some mechanic differences/rule differences with me? Note: TUS was 2-man mechanics and this particular college camp is going to be using 3-man mechanics. Example question I have is: What are the pre-pitch hand signals used by umpires in college? (TUS taught us that they aren't used because everyone uses a uniform two man system and should know where they are supposed to be.) Also, as far as calling strikes, have any college umpires been taught to keep their head forward when signaling a strike out to the side? Any other info anyone wants to share is valuable as well. Thanks.

Yeah I later found out that they're golf shirts. I'm still looking for a few though. I frequent Marshall's and TJ Maxx so I hopefully I'll find a few soon.

Kyle isn't this some awesome stuff. Seeing the guys you were just on the field with a couple of months ago out there working. Rich with the first ejection. I thought that was BAD ASS when I read it. LOL I dunno why he had to make the ejection but I can definitely imagine him doing it.

Awesome. Thanks guys. I'm gonna invest in that book by Carl Childress today.

Is there a book out there that has the rule differentiations for all three major rule books? I need to get that somehow since I know OBR quite well but don't know the NCAA and high school differences. If any of you know, give me the title of the book and where I can purchase it please.

I'm sure the gear heads have noticed the Nike mock turtlenecks that some MLB guys wear. Are they the same as the NIke golf turtlenecks? Where can I find them? I thought it looked pretty smooth the other day when I noticed it and it'd look great along with my Air Max I wear in the field.

Verbalize "That's a balk," if he turns and throws wildly to first then allow the play to continue. The balk should only be enforced once it's clear that all runners will not advance at least one base. I attended PBUC this year and that's what we were taught although the 3rd to 1st rule had not been put in place yet.

PBUC Manual says correct it. If he continues, he is subject to ejection. No penalty listed other than ejection.

Thanks for you alls responses, guys. I think I'm gonna buy it in a couple of weeks. I actually don't have enough gear to fill the larger Diamond back. I only have a WV CP, WV shins, Wilson Mask, Two pairs of base shoes, and one pair of plate. I could definitely use the clothing bags with the Force 3 so I won't be carrying clothes on hangers.
-
LOL thanks man. I'll be sure to check it out.

I'm in the market for a new bag and I'm considering the Force 3 bag. A good friend of mine has it and he likes it. I currently own the larger Diamond bag without the pull out handle. The only problem I have with it is that the top sinks in. I bought it used so I don't have the dividers that came with it. Either way, what do you guys think about the Force 3 bag? I would like to have the folding bags to put my pants and shirts in as well.

I checked it out and apparently someone had a copy mailed to them. I just e-mailed the customer service department at the MLB shop. Hopefully they can share some great info with me.

I know I'm way late on this but I'm searching Hulu Plus now and can't find it. I've also searched the net up and down. Did anyone ever figure out where to watch this outside of MLB network? I'd really love to watch it again.

Anyone know where I can find a copy of the MLB documentary "The Third Team?" I was fortunate enough to see it at ump school back in January but haven't been able to find it on the internet for download or even on Hulu/Netflix. I'd greatly appreciate it if someone can send me a link to the full video.

Does anyone know if these fit true to size? I know they are two different brands but I have two different year Honig's shirts and they fit totally different. The most recent medium Honig's I bought is too big but mine from 2011 fit perfect. I'm about to order two Majestic shirts today and was hoping someone could give me some insight as to how they fit so I can order the right size.

We Good luck. The cost is what makes it next-to-impossible for any organization to make them the "standard." With new umpires already spending over $500 for the bare essentials, asking them to spend an extra $30-40 for pants is a kick in the crotch (hopefully after they've purchased their cup). When I started with my organization, we were told to buy charcoal grey, but were also told the standard was changed a year or two before, so some partners may still only have heather grey. I agree. Most associations are not going to make polys the standard. We finally going to charcoal this year and also with the new $37 shirts. Sent from my Kindle Fire HD 32GB Well for what it's worth I've recommended them to a few of my favorite partners who I know I can get assigned with in summer ball.

Ok after reading nearly every post, I noticed a lack of pictures. I learned from an older guy about creasing the front but what about the back? Anyone care to upload pics of their best creases? Just a youngster trying to learn the ropes here...

It's funny that everyone here hates GD pants but they seem to be the standard in a lot of places. I'm new to the HS association so I can't complain. All the guys I've talked to love the GD pants. I bought some but haven't received them yet. I've tried on my PWs and they felt like HEAVEN. I'm definitely gonna bring my PWs out just so the other guys can feel them and possibly make a recommendation that a change be made to the standard. I can't wait until January at pro school to break out my PWs and even this summer in semi-final and championship games! BTW I'm glad I joined and browsed this site before purchasing much needed pants.

Any of you guys know why the ump-attire pants are 10 bucks more than the Honig's? I think I read here that they were the exact same pants. Nvm. Expander waistband.

Thanks! That's the plan!
