If you get it real close to the Wendy, northern guys will love it. I was working in the Northeast and it was great. Southern guys might love the protection but there are cooler CPs out there but you sacrifice a little with a cooler protector Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The Wendy just folds around you where the standard gold just feels like you’re wearing it. Hard to explain Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It looks good. I hope you’re onto something since there has been a hole in the market since Team Wendy left. Umpirerocks as I told you earlier, it’s not just the lower profile (we all like to look slimmer) but it’s the way the Team Wendy molds to your upper body that made it awesome. I wish you the best Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Umpiresrock74, thanks for the message. Good luck with your experiment. Give me a day or 2 to send you some of my retrofit pictures. Maybe they can help you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sorry for just jumping in here guys. I haven’t been around here in a few years but I’m amazed to see people still talking about the Team Wendy’s retrofit. It was a really sweet CP. Good luck to those of you trying to recreate a better mousetrap. I’d love to see someone do it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thunderheads, we teach pretty much the same thing you’re talking about in my area, with 1 slight difference. We teach getting your nose pretty much where your partner would be in the B in a 2-man game, then moving your eyes to the pitcher without moving your head. It puts your eyes looking straight down at the zone as the pitch crosses the plate. Less straining to see the pitch on the outer corner and no head movement needed. Same theory just a different order in the set up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Was that 16 year old girl from Omaha? No...she was from the Bronx. She was extremely timid and we couldn't get her to be emphatic or convincing. We kept telling her that she had to project confidence with her voice. So on her next strike call she screams, "Strike, G-d D----t!" I freaking lost it. That's pretty awesome. You seem to have brought her out of her shell. Then again, I've never met a timid girl from the Bronx! 🻠Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can't speak from personal experience but my HS Association had a few guys make the trip. Seems the reviews were all positive and well worth the trip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@ MikeSafari, we had that play making the rounds about 3 years ago. One way to remedy that bunt up the 1st baseline and runner cutting the corner is for the plate guy to not chase the ball up the line but to drop back on 1BL extended. It gives you a good look fair/foul and opens up the field for a glance at the runner rounding third Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

asking for help BEFORE you make the call?

I've heard this done before in the OP's situation BU: "Partner, what you got?" PU: "I've got the plate!" Bravo to the plate guy. Kind of like MidAm's throwing him back under the bus Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I have had the same thing happen to me in an evaluation game. Slow roller up the line and I switched the mask to my right hand to point the ball fair with my left. It was noticed from one of the evaluators that had just done a D1 regional. I never even realized that I had made the switch. Needless to say, the mask stays in my left hand now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If that's what the OP is asking then I am in agreement with grayhawk. I do not have interference here unless there is some local must slide at the plate rule Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I should have been more clear, the award it 2 bases from time of throw. R2 is awarded the plate Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm thinking by your description of the play it's the second play on the infield so it's a time of throw award with the ball going into DBT. R2 is awarded home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
