Guys Fittske24 will be working the plate tomorrow at 7pm ET on ESPN2 in Livermore California for the LL intermediate World Series championship. Congrats to him on that great on honor and I'll be in chat during the game if anyone wants to join me.

I don't think you baited him. I would've not said anything when he wanted F2 to clean the plate and then run the HC for having F2 show me up.
-
on YES it showed it was a pretty clear start/stop balk.

If he jumps back in, call it as is. If he jumps out and stays out, don't be ridiculous but give the benefit of the doubt to the pitcher.

ok ..... regardless of how you present those words ....... THAT'S GOT to come across redass If I was his UIC, I'd come onto the field and correct this immediately. If you were my UIC and you came out on my field to correct anything I said or did you'd better have your plate gear on............. Calm down buddy, it's a little joke. I've seen a lot of guys comment with too many warnings. I agree. I gave a lot more rope than I usually do. My ejection totals were high and I was thinking the problem was me. So I went into this with the mindset of ignore more and make sure to give a definite warning before tossing. Now I realize I work with a bunch of uneducated coaches. Or knucleheaded ones. James Walker I know what you mean. I had a big total of ejections last year and all off season I thought maybe I am letting coaches get to me and I need to calm down and give them a little more rope. That changed the first week this year when I realized giving the coaches more rope only made it worse instead of making it better. I had 4 in a month this yr....but I've also had a stretch where I've had nothing for 2yrs.......it doesn't really matter when they have to go they have to go

How much good-natured (or not so good-natured) needling did you take for that? If I was your partner, you'd not have heard the end of it yet. i got a lot more from the crew who had the 8pm game who showed up at 715 for a game that didnt start till after 11:15 and didnt end till around 2am

last night had a 530 LL JR district game. Finished at 10:49. 16 innings. HT won 9-8. It was 7-6 w a R3 and 2 out bot 7 and i balked in the tying run. 9 innings later vt goes up 8-7 and ht scores 2 in bot 16.

Ive been asked before the game where my zone is. I usually respond with a simple "nothing out of the ordinary." seems to work fine for me

I woulda tossed him for the "you gotta be from a certain place" comment. Loud enough for people to hear openly accusing of bias and from an AC he's done right there.
-
And thanks to you for realizing (unlike some of the coaches out there) that it's not an us vs. you scenario and were in this together. Welcome and feel free to post whenever.

As long as there is no verbal to go along with Jeters fake he's good.
-
Not sure what your asking. As long as no one catches after throwing 41+ or pitches after catching 4+ innings everything is legal. You can catch three and then throw another 85. You can pitch 40 and then catch an infinite number of extra innings. But once you hit the threshold on either catching or pitching you can't do the other.
-
If you pitch 41 or more you can't catch. If you catch 4 or more innings (1 pitch behind home plate in an inning=whole inning caught) you can't pitch.

@FleasOf1000Camels the little envelope icon near the top right corner of the website next to your user name. click on that and then compose new.

I guess you could EJ the coach for makin a travesty of the game but its a stretch unless they're diving at every pitch. Just call it as is.
-
Depends on how it's said. In a conversation to me, you're right. If it's loud enough for everyone in the stands to hear - that in of itself is enough for me to EJ. Even with absolutely nothing else. is it prolonged? Profane? Personal? Exactly what criteria do you base the EJ on? I consider it personal. If your questioning 1 call your disputing judgement. If your questioning more than one call at once your either questioning the umpires a) integrity or b ) ability

No run does not score. Just because the runner is tagged rather than the base does not change the fact that this is a force. Since the 3rd out was made by a force no runs can score.

ya thats what i was referring to.....@Thunderheads (or anyone else really) would you mind fixing the link for me i have no idea how to do it

@grayhawk I disagree. I think the swing has been completed. The bat is actually moving back towards F2 in a motion not associated with the swing. There's nothing in the rule about the swing being completed. IMO, the bat is there as part of his backswing. That would be my call. The way i see it is If a batter strikes at a ball and misses and swings so hard he carries the bat all the way around and, in the umpire’s judgment, unintentionally hits the catcher or the ball in back of him on the backswing, it shall be called a strike only the bolded action was already complete so anything additional would be BI not backswing INT

I got INT. Since BR was retired R1 is out.

The sad thing is I have no problem believing people act like this. If someone told me this happened in my LL district I wouldn't be surprised.

As someone who does predominantly LL id feel Overdressed if I wore 2
