I know a lot of you guys don't do softball... Over the weekend I worked the plate for our ASA Class A, 18U state championship game. This is the highest level of play we have in our state, there were multiple college players, including 2-3 DI players.

I found some Adidas socks at TJ Max this winter and really like them. They come up to just below the knee and the top of the foot is a mesh material. They breath very well and do not hold in moisture.

I have a set on the way, I took a wicked shot last weekend... That was enough to get me to order a set.

I am wondering the same thing? I have one on its way, to be delivered Friday. I can't decide if I am going to put it on my Douglas or Charcoal...

I got hit in the NB with a hard foul ball bouncer, also in a softball game. It hurt a little at first but nothing like it would have with a standard cup. It took probably less than a minute to regain my composure and for the small amount of pain to go away. It was a very loud crack, and my partner came running in as soon as it happened. He was ready to go put his plate gear on... After the game he was on his phone ordering one for himself, he could not believe I was able to continue after that shot!

It is getting to me the heat of summer and time to bring this topic back up... I ordered some Florida Water and it came in the mail today. I came home for lunch and asked the wife if she had gotten the mail, her response, "What the h*ll did you order this time? That stuff smells like sh!t" I just laughed, I can't wait to try it this weekend. Supposed to be in the upper 90's

I have noticed lately the price of Nike Titanium masks on EBAY have been dropping. There have been a couple of them sell for around $300. The ones listed for $400-$500 have not been selling. It does seem like there have been a lot them listed lately. Are the start to become more available?

I emailed TW a while ago and they said NO retro fit on the Douglas. They have no way of attaching the plates...

I have a set of Nike memory foam mask pads, from a titanium mask, up for trade. They are black in color and show little signs of use. Please send me a message with offers...

I have the version that the padding attaches to the plates with Velcro. All padding can be removed...

I would caution trying to black out the Zig, this portion of the shoe has a lot of flex and compression. I would imagine if you tried to paint it in any way, it would just flake off.

I picked up a Wilson Charcoal and really like the fit of this CP. However it is a little more bulky than my Douglas. Has anyone tried a TW retro on a Charcoal? I am having a hard time rationalizing spending $120 on the retro fit for a CP you can buy new for under $100.

Maybe he never attended Kindergarten or any formal school except Umpire School. Funny thing is yesterday my daughter graduated from Kindergarten. During a power point slide show, they showed that they learned to pick up and clean up after themselves. So it is taught in Kindergarten. She only attends one day a week and the other 4 are Home school. 6 year old kids know better and I hate getting gum on my umpire shoes. I was cleaning my Zig base shoes a couple nights ago and noticed I have gum stuck to the bottom... I was PISSED!!!

The pitching plate is swept so the base umpire can watch to make sure the pitcher is in contact with the rubber and not committing an illegal pitch. The bases are swept for a similar reason, as base runners cannot leave the base until the ball has left the pitchers hand. It makes it a lot easier to see these violations when the plate/bases are clean.

It wasn't in a game I was doing, but I heard about it over the weekend. 7-9 year old game. Left fielder pacing back and forth, fidgeting, legs crossed the whole works, he had to pee. Next thing you know he turns around to face the fence, whips it out and pees in the outfield...

To me. this shows that the article writer does not have a grasp on how the system works. Its not like these guys wake up on Opening Day and say, "ok vacation is over it is time to go back to work..." And incentive program... Don't the guys work all season long to get the call for the playoffs? If you get selected for the playoffs, your salary increases. Appears to me they already have an incentive program in place.

I ordered mine Ump Lite guards from Epic Sports. They say 10 days but it was at least 20, I would have to go back and look up the specifics but I know it took 3 weeks. If you are in a hurry this is not the company to order from. I bought mine this winter so it was no big deal.
