T,T,F,F,F Unless CA specifically requires the pregame being read from a card. Wouldn't surprise me -
We have to do a report even for a bench restriction

I let that go. If you have to look that hard for a rule, and it's something as inconsequential as this, I'm not making waves. I've had it happen a couple times, and have made a note to look it up. Alas, the beers prevented me from doing so.

Tossing equipment on a swinging 3k ..... and an EJ

Steroids make you crazy... But seriously, this is where bad behavior starts and consequently escalates. SO if he's got to throw this guy out during or after his next at bat, it's his own fault.- 7 replies

Gently remind him that game management trumps the book. At least that's what my association's president says....

The article is so completely inadequate I don't know where to begin. What time/days are the umpires changing on the street? Is the locker room available only for school games? If you look at the map Ontario Street is on the other side of the high school - it's got to be 200 yards away, across 2 streets - so the umpires would rather walk farther? Where is the parking for this incredibly convenient locker room? This thing reads like something from a snarky Middle School newspaper. Edited to add: I missed that Ontario Street ends and begins on the other side of the school. What kind of lunatic designs streets in Oak Park?

I LOVE the shin high outside pitch. I'll call that all day long. I get the belt high ones, too....

Play at the plate with no tag and no touch of home is the only other one I've got.

Went to the BRD, which references the MLBUM - to wit: "The MLBUM defines that (catch) as "when the momentum of the catch is completed"". This looks to me like the momentum of the catch on Crawford's part has been completed, but since I'm a Red Sox fan, not enough bad things (in baseball) can happen to him.

dude, do you bring them onto the field?

Ok. TW pads are really good. Reduced the weight of my mask and I know I'm getting better protection. They're not quite as comfortable as the doeskin, tho. I can feel the stubble catching. I'm sure that as I use them they will wear a bit. I'm glad I bought them. I'm not as glad as others...- Edited to add - has anyone noticed that your calls are muffled?
-
I hate smileys. I seldom use them,

While you're at it, why not ask them if they'd just give you a plate coat free of charge?

"Time" By FED rules, you add 2 strikes to the count. Would I do it? No. But I might add 1.

This is beautiful. Let me translate: "I didn't get the answer I wanted so I'm going to trash the umps" Channeling Ives.

I googled/youtubed/binged the play. Couldn't find it. Sounds to me like there was no INT, as F3 was able to play the ball. The INT has to hinder F3's ability to field the throw. Sounds like F3 was able to field the throw. Nothing is yet remarkably clear.

This isn't rocket science. Call the zone they want. Umpires that advance are able to adjust their zone to the circumstances.

I apologize for using the term "dummies", btw. Just because I don't understand someone's motivation doesn't make them a "dummy".

Will be using my TWP for the first time tonight, Looking forward to it.

he said he busted up 1BL. he didn't go to third until he saw the runner start for third. I also agree with Grayhawk. Your job there is the plate. There's no second runner for the BU to pickup rounding first so he can have it all the way to third. So I'm right AND I'm wrong? I've been there with my ex-wife
