dumbdumb Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 here we go-they already did the check swing technology last year in MiLB, and the infrared years ago with layne working the plate in the WS(2011 game 1) it is time for both of them, they have the technology and the money is no object. the check swing should have definitely gone in this year, with the pitch challenge. watch both of these swings below and tell me the batter did not go even without having the bat break. and the ball hitting the foot or the hands using infrared. the time has come. infrared https://legacy.baseballprospectus.com/article_legacy.php?articleid=15341 Quote

The broken bat may have swung and could have hit the pitch. That has nothing to do with whether it was an offer. I won't comment on U3's history of rule knowledge. 1 Quote

At this point, let's just quit letting people play the game and have all contests played on an XBOX. 1 Quote

flyingron Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 They've been using IR to determine if the ball hit the bat or the batter's pads in cricket for a while now, those silly leg-before-wicket British people. Quote

Been a bit since I watched cricket and I've seen liberal use of directional microphones to see the sound waves of touches but missed the IR. MLB can afford all that. It's a case of wanting too at this point. Quote
