Wow...I'm guessing whomever ordered the umpire caps (or sold them...) has no idea why there might be a need for someone to wear a 4 stitch. I can hear them now, "Now, you can get those caps in 4-stitch, 6-stitch or 8-stitch...which would you like?"

"Well...it seems like you would get the best sun shade with an 8-stitch and that's the only reason why anyone would wear a cap so, let's make those all 8-stitch, please..."

They're nice looking hats.  A guy in my local association had one on at our latest meeting on Sunday night.  I assumed he got it from his son - MLB umpire #62.

The funny thing was, I thought it was a 6-stitch, not an 8 but I could have been wrong.
