Have you seen the videos UCU has been putting out in social media with the laser plate? Does anyone know what company makes it and where you coukd find more information out about it?

That thing looks pretty cool. Got a nice price tag someone said on their FB page. Your local HS assoc. will not be getting one.

I'm going to try my son's VR headset and WinReality for some off season vision training. There's a mode where it challenges the batter (the targeted audience of WinReality) to swing at strikes and take balls. Even if it's not as good as this laser training, it's far cheaper.

Are you able to move "behind the plate" in WinReality? It'd be nice to know if you're stuck in the batter's box or if you're free to walk around anywhere.

I haven't messed around with it much, but I think all that's needed is to expand the headset's "safety zone" and move behind the virtual catcher.

I've moved to the catcher's position, so in theory it could work. I'll try it soon and provide my thoughts in a separate thread.

I was just thinking when seeing one of those commercials how something like this could be made for us and be useful.  Curious to see how your experiment comes out.
