Anyone ever use baseballsavings.com? I'm wondering if they are legit. Looking to get some plastic spikes from them because I've had some bad slips in wet infields that my bad knees can't take more of.

New Balance also had some really aggressive turf shoes. But I cabt remember the full number that went with them. Think it was 44?? Sorry can't be more help.

I had thoughts of going with them a few years back when I was changing base shoes. But my wide feet change that fast.

@Rock Bottom, may I suggest Adidas Turf Hogs or the brand new Nike Alpha Huarache Elite 3s? Talk about grabby.

Good suggestion on Huaraches. Our stock is good. And on sale. Downside is D width only.

Adidas Turf Hogs are discontinued. Very little stock and sizes with anyone. Scanning other retailers, I found the most remaining sizes here:

https://officialsports.net/product/newadidas-turf-hog-lx-low-black-white/

Another really good suggestion on grip is Under Armour Turf but these are going fast (another solid new item that ends up discontinued too quickly by manufacturers). We have stock on most sizes of Black and White in D width.

If you needed a wide width, Purchase Officials have a few sizes of those remaining:

There is also a UA all black. We have only extreme sizes left. Purchase Officials has a few more sizes remaining so I’ll include their link.

4040s. Extremely narrow D. We used to carry, but too many returns due to sizing led us to stick with the size reliable umpire-specific MU950s.

Consider the 4040 only if you have a narrow D. Still, the 3 @MadMaxand I mentioned have more traction than the 4040s IMO.

Thanks Jim - I'll check those out!  I usually pretty much only go with you for my equipment needs, but since I was looking at actual composite cleats you didn't have those, but i'll look at these options.

You’re welcome, and thanks for the good words.

I had written an article at one point on the subject of getting the right amount of traction for the sport you officiate based on the field and conditions.

The gist of it was the right amount of traction - not too little and not too much - was what you needed to perform your job and to avoid injuries.

In essence, too much traction could open you up to injuries.

I have bad knees as well, so I empathize. However, I wouldn’t make it worse with adding a potential muscle pull or other with cleats for umpiring, not to mention sore feet after a long game...the cleats are definitely not made for all the standing field umpires do...essentially, the reason we don’t offer cleats although we have access to them.

Best of luck. Please share the direction you go in and how it works out.

This reminds me of that scene in "Miracle on 34th Street" where Santa starts sending Macy's shoppers to competing stores all across NYC when the item they were shopping for was out of stock...

Since so many folks describe getting a shipment from U-A as being like Christmas morning, I can see where Jim Kirk can seem like Santa.

Yet another reason U-A has superior customer service.  They just want to help officials get the gear they want.  Even if they don't have it.
