Bases loaded, one out. Hit the ball to pitcher, throws to first and then home. No tag at home just standing on plate. Is the runner at home out since their was no tag?

With your name having softball in it, then I'll say that in many/most slow pitch leagues outs at home are achieved by touching the plate (in fact, usually, tagging the runner is not permitted)...the runner crosses a line, and does not touch the plate (in most cases, may not touch th eplate).

So, if this is a recreational/beer slow pitch league, the runner at home could indeed be out.

My grad school league did this.   We called our own games, was supposed to be friendly.

I was F3, bases loaded, did exactly this--stepped on first, then threw home.  The 1B Coach, in charge of that call, looked and said "But you took away the force first....OHHHHHH" and acknowledged I had found that exploit.

Typically there's a Commit line too, about 2/3 from third base to home - if the runner hasn't passed it, touching home plate does nothing...once he passes it, he must continue, and the "force" is now on.

Yeah, we put up a cone halfway down.

We were literally throwing bases out on park fields every week, it wasn't a precision operation for us.

Yeah, it's so crazy how people everywhere manage to play baseball games without coaches and umpires and spectators.
