Douglas Rigidity

To those of you who wear the Douglas rig, how have you handled the rigidity of the bottom? 

I've read threads about using a hair dryer to mold the shell to a curve. 

I like the rig, but I've never been a fan of how straight the lower shell fits. 

Thoughts & ideas?

I took blow dryer to heat it up and then curve it. After that I took a bungie cable around bottom plate to keep that shape permanently.

Get the t-hook option and it wraps to you pretty quickly.

Ump0000 has the idea, or you can borrow a heat gun which would do it quicker ..... then get something to "brace it" into the shape you want.

Before I found my Original West Vest by Douglas .... I took a carpet knife and slit that pad into 3rds (of course I had T-hooks added first).  Don't cut all the way thru the plate, just score it ....works great (sand edges as needed)

This is the best solution.  All you have to send them is the plate.  They turned mine around in the same day.  $25+ shipping included the t hooks.  I tried to get them to send me a new plate and save on the shipping there but, I could never make it clear enough.
