I'm going to pull the trigger on these next week, and I'm looking for advice.

I've been wearing Cooper hockey official shin guards for years, I love the velcro straps, and light weight. Plus, they've mated up to my old 450's like butter. I'd like to hear about how your new NB shoes have worked with your shin guards. I'm thinking about going with the low tops, and my Platinums, and wondered how the ankle flaps fit.

i bought a pair of the new "lows" from NB & wore them 1st time today paired w/my Force3 shins.  i really liked the combo & both items compliment each other & there is a huge noticeable dif

i bought a pair of the new "lows" from NB & wore them 1st time today paired w/my Force3 shins.  i really liked the combo & both items compliment each other & there is a huge noticeable difference in the weight between these new NB's & the last model of their plate shoe. I was a big fan of the Reebok low plate shoes & am still nursing a pair of those along to try & get one more summer out of them.  The NB lows are significantly lighter than Reebok lows as well.   I liked the sheen of the newest NB's & after my game a few swipes of my shoe brush & they look perfect.  I feel like it was a definite step up from my last NB460's.

From the first time I put them on with my 460s it just didn't feel right with the ankle protection and the mid cut shoe, but I went with the combination for the rest of the season.

I did some cage work today with the new V3 low cut shoes and the ankle flap on the Force3s sat just as it should. There were no coverage gaps and no rubbing of equipment on another piece of equipment, and I felt as though I was properly protected. I will have no concerns with the combination going forward.

I have a pair of low top Reeboks, and I'm dying to try the F3. As soon as I unload my Douglas I'm going to give them a go.

Just had a discussion about the Reebok Field Magistrates and how nothing can touch them.  Have the new model NB low tops and they're nice.  After wearing the high tops for a few years it's taking some getting used to the low tops.  Have to say I really like them.

I have the Zigs that I have been using with my Bauer FinnShins. I liked them and found them quite protective. The main issue I have had is with the shin guards shifting. Had the same issue with my WV pro shins as well.

Along with the shin guards shifting, it would push the over sized tongue to the side. Which I always found as a problem.

I am hoping to try the F3 and S7 shins in the cage before I send one (or both back.)

I've also owned the S7 shins. Stick with the Force 3's.  I feel they are way better.

Not sure I will hold on to either one. I was placing a large order and thought... why not see them in person.

I got the new NB low tops and wore them Saturday in a scrimmage for the first time and loved them. A lot lighter than the old NB 460s and the traction on the bottom is light years better than the old shoes also. I wear the Platinum Wilson shin guards and they fit fine on the low top shoes. 

I think NB does run a little big. I had to go down a half size. I wear a 13 in everything else and the 13s were gigantic on me so I got a 12.5.

I heard somewhere to order the same size you wore for the 460s. I usually wear about a 12 shoe but the 11 460s seem plenty big. :shrug:

Wouldn't work for me since I never owned a pair of those moon boots.

I had the original 460s and wore a 12EE instead of 13D like I normally wear. I first tried a 13D in the V3s and they were huge. Then I decided I should go with the same size I wore in the old 460s so I tried a 12EE and they were too small. Third pair was the 12.5D and they fit great. Thankfully Amazon Prime has free returns.

I ordered the low in the V3 and couldn't be happier. They seem to have been designed to go with the Force3 shins because it is a perfect fit.

 

and as others have said they do run a little big. I had to return 1st pair for a smaller size
