Great throw by Mookie Betts to get Kiermaier at 3rd .........

Not sure this was the best location to take this play (moving and all) ....    I don't do 4 man, but ....I'm sure this can be tricky reading this play and getting the best view.  Thoughts?

If it's a swipe tag, you want to be behind the base (in foul territory, about in line with 2b-3b).  If it's a tag at the base, you want to be perpendicular to the play -- about on the foul line.  But, especially the latter, is complicated because you don't want to get blocked out by either the runner or the fielder, and it will depend on how F5 catches the ball and applies the tag,.

But, yes, you shouldn't be moving.

Looks like he was going to align himself 2BLX, with base, ball, runner then realized too late (caught off guard?) that BR was trying for 3rd. Had a late read that the play was going to be a "crash type play" instead of a "swipe tag". So, he tried to adjust to the foul line to develop an angle to see the play and just got there too late.

Maybe if he positioned himself at the point of 3rd base, like 1BLX, and then he possibly could of took a step to the foul line for the play he had or a step towards 2BLX and positioned for a swipe tag?
