Wonder if anyone saw this....  wonder if he does this with runners on, haven't been able to find video yet in that situation.

I guess, maybe, that since he starts with his feet in a hybrid stance and it doesn't look like anyone's on base, it's like an allowed double pump or something? But I can't imagine he can do that with a runner on. Can he?

I would think with a runner on, one it could easily be a balk (?), however, his time to plate would be atrocious and steal city.

Assuming he took the rubber with his hands already together, this is a wind up and if he did it with runners on base even I could steal.

If he does this with a runner on, there doesn't seem to be any stop, I don't have a balk (something is moving throughout the motion), but like above a runners dream. Many of those guys have odd deliveries -

That's a windup so he could do it with a runner on. I doubt his pitching coach wants him to windup like that with R3. Seems like begging for a steal or squeeze. He does have a fairly normal set delivery though and used it with R1 in that game.

just found a vid w/ runners on - like you said, normal set/stretch delivery

I totally agree, this is the hybrid wind-up. It is amazing what some of the guys come up with

I have a normal windup stance with a transition into a sideways stance. Some pitchers do this but a lot smother and continuously. I have TOP as first move from the normal foot position.

He pitched in last night's game - we were there. It was his ML debut. As soon as I saw it, I commented on it. My son - also an umpire as well as former HS pitcher - was very intrigued. 

And yes, he did it with runners on base

The video angle looks like his non-pivot foot is ahead of his pivot foot. But no matter,

Yes, he did. We watched the runner at 1st flinch the first time.

the right leg never stops moving, if one considers the "bounce" in that leg, so would that still apply?

He pitched from the set with R1, the only runner he had in the inning. He has a "normal" MLB stretch which has a slight stutter step. Certainly continuous motion to a stop.

If he wound up R1 would have been on 2B.

I watched him tonight.  He lifts the leg high while stretching into the set position. Then does the "toe tap" once or twice while his arms keep moving before he comes set.
