@Jocko

He's not wearing a Force3. Close up view near end as he re-dons his mask to continue game. I'm not much of a mask freak like some of our members so I don't know what kind it is but it isn't a Force3 Defender.

And, in my opinion, he is wearing the harness way too tightly to his head. Looks like how a catcher wears it.

And man, that was a shot!

Excuse me. Saw this on Force 3 fb page. Guess they're false advertising too? Jeebus.

@Thunderheads .....delete this pls

@Jocko... They're probably showcasing this on the Force3 FB page as a demonstration of the severe blows the Defender would alleviate. That whole, skeptical, "Aw yeah? How bad can it get?" thing.

Well, viewers, there is a recent example of how bad it can get.

Eff the mask, and it's pads.

What I want to know is why the PU's partners allowed him to continue?

When you take a shot like that, you're in NO condition to make any sort of decision on if you can continue, or not. Yeah, in the olden days, before we knew any better, we'd saddle up and go on. But we're so much more educated now.

Either someone else gears up, or go behind the mound. One more shot like that, and that cat could have been eatin' Jello for the rest of his days. Folks, we're smarter than that, now.

Yeah. no. If a guy is laid out flat on his back, in the dirt by the force of a baseball square to his face, in 2015 he's done.

It's not a welter weight fight, with BIG money on the line. We have jobs and families to go home to. It's not worth the whatever trivial amount of money we make to get dame bramidge from the second blow of the night.

And getting cleared by a baseball trainer means nothing to me, sorry. That PU may be good to drive home, but not good to take another blow like that. It's not the first one that $%^'s you up, it's the second one in close proximity.

We're smarter that that now, I hope. Now I've soldiered on after sharp blow to the noggin. I'm sure most of you have, too. But hopefully we have more data on what could happen AFTER we take that initial shot, and can make smarter choices.

My pride won't let me leave a field injured. It's the way I played the game and the way I umpire too. I don't flinch when I get hit. I don't show pain ever and I am sure not leaving a field after I get hit by a baseball. Unless, of course, I am knocked out cold. It might be dumb of me to do, but my pride won't allow it any other way.

@Magic

I agree with you 100%. I'm an adult. I decide what I can and will do. Kids...adults decide for them.
