I also think that the lack of criticism Wilson is receiving speaks to the fact that most people don't consider him an elite quarterback. What elite QB doesn't catch the blame for a play like that?

Just having some fun with you mate. You've obviously got a lot invested in that game. Seahawks blowing that win cost you a few bucks? A sleepless and fitful evening? A few tears maybe? It's just an effin game. Played by full grown men. Sorry if my perspective interferes with yours.

honestly you lost me, not sure where you're going with it. It's all good, though. Actually I was strongly rooting for the patriots so I'm perfectly happy with the outcome. Just trying to give my perspective on the last few plays.

There was almost a minute left after the first down play. Plenty of time for a run on 2nd down. If you don't get it, call timeout and throw on 3rd down. If that's incomplete, you still have Lynch on the 1 yard line on 4th down. They stood around for a good 20-25 seconds after the first down play and wasted time. Carroll didn't want to give Brady any time if he got the ball back. 

 

The play call was terrible and Wilson's throw wasn't great, but the OC was right (Even though he threw the WR under the bus). The WR made no effort to play the ball. He waited back for it and T-Rex armed it. Catch the ball out in front and get in the end zone.

I'm just happy it ended like it did. My wife and I won 3 of the 4 quarters, including the final score. The pick and then the offsides were both huge, though I suspect they weren't actually going to take the safety there - just trying to get Seattle to jump and they obliged.

I would like to know is why at the end of the 2nd quarter when Seattle got the TD with about 6 seconds to go. Why on eart didn't the defense just do a pass interference or a hold on the guy that caught the ball and bot let him catch it.

The penalty would have put the ball a little closer to the goal line but only 1 or 2 seconds to go.

Seattle would have probably gone for the field goal at that point.

I worried about the read option there as well. However, how much film study would you have to do to get your 8th DB to recognize the play there and drive on the ball that quickly? The level of preparation it took to make that play is what amazes me.

I had no problem with the play. The guy just made the play of his life and went after and got the ball.  Would people say the same thing if the ball was intercepted in the corner of the end zone or Lynch had fumbled while running it up the gut?

Not sure of the greatest, one of them, but the guy made the best and most important play of his life.  I don't understand why people are criticizing the play call instead of just giving that player his due for the play he made.  At least Brady realized it and gave him the truck.  Would Wilson have been the MVP if the pass had worked?
