I've been wearing these for two years now under WVG & WV Shin Guards. Haven't had any issues with wear or tear in fabric.

:-)

I use WV charcoal shin guards as well.

Maybe I just have chunky legs...

I wear a Nutty Buddy with the jock, so a cup pocket is a waste of time, and adds more layers. Nice in winter, murder in San Diego.

I like the Champion leggings from Target. I did the Shock Doctor and McDavid, but these things really work well in the heat. Plus, they're dirt cheap, so you can buy a few.

I think Jeff needs to write up a "How to search the forums" article and make it a sticky.

nope.

next think I'll be doing is assisting people on how to use the restroom

Please explain those crazy toilet seats in Chicago O'hare. They have an automatic rotating 'ass' gasket. I wonder who thought of that?

Oh, and a thought about the topic.

I wear the McDavid compression tights with the thigh pads. Also, UA heat gear.

I've got some Reebok compression tights that are alright but way long so I end up having to fold them up.

Why not just cut off the ends of the legs to make them fit?  You could sew the edge, if needed.

Not worth the aggravation, really. They were cheap as hell and I've got some UAs I prefer instead.

What do you guys wear under your shin guards? Last year I wore long baseball socks which worked fine, but my new West Vest shin guards require more length up top, over my knee, to keep the straps from driving me nuts. Experiential wisdom would help, even if it's 'man up!'. Thanks.

Oh yea, I searched the forums already, came up dry.

Leggings are great because they allow your shin guards and straps to "float" without rubbing the skin. I even wear them in the summer, but make sure you get performance "wicking" material so that the sweat doesn't make you feel wet. I think it also helps keep your pants drier and they will last longer as a result.
