Does snowfall look the same everywhere? I know you're from Florida but yes, snow does indeed look like snow just about everywhere it falls.

Are you kidding me?   No it most certainly does not.

@JaxRolo .... Some snowfalls can look very much alike, however, ...depending on the wind, and the humidity, ... your snow flakes can look and be very large, giving it a different appearance as it falls.

Actually, ... my photo from yesterday morning is a similar snowfall to SJA's photo, but ... SJA got the "chunky snowflake" snowfall!

I agree. Having spent several winters in Maine, Connecticut, Chicago and Cuba.

Snow is white. Snow is wet. Snow is cold. Snow is a pain in te ass to clear and snow is awful. It's the same everywhere.

And if you agree, why did you ask?

Except NYC, snow is brown there.

... Then there's "blue snow" and "yellow snow".

Really, ya think you Alaskans are unique just because you're so far north? We Sconnies have the market cornered on Miserable Snow. :)

Is Alaska even a part of USA?

Is Alaska even a part of USA?

As much as we hate to associate with you guys down there, yes.

Really, Alaska is big enough to be it's own country, WHY that hasn't happened yet will forever be a mystery.

Before you start bashing Alaska, remember that 25% of your oil comes from us and almost all of your Pacific Salmon and Black Cod.

A significant amount of your silver, zinc, and gold comes from a mine close to Juneau that employs over 300 people directly and indirectly. One in ten people make their living catching your halibut or king crab. 1.3 million people from around the world show up on our docks every summer to ooh and ahh over the place we live, bringing in millions in revenue for Juneau alone, which continues to cycle through the city and state.

On the Juneau Icefield in Alaska you can see Red Snow.

:-)

Redsnow is base camp...

Good morning from the Albany, NY area.  The huge NE storm missed us completely.  In the meantime, I hear NYC and Boston are getting hammered.
