WOW. I bet you all the Umpires called that one at the same time!

I could see U2 and PU call it at the same time. U1 seemed to just echo the call.

I like his timing. See it, process it, call it.

It's not too late to call that balk, and yes, he really did that. :)

U1 maybe was processing WTF but that was an epic fail by his catcher to maybe get retroactive "time" call to,protect his pitcher.

Go ahead Clint.... good job guys

You appear to still be engaged on this site. Would you mind going back to the thread regarding a kicked uncaught third strike and letting us know if you changed your mind on your post/s in that thread?

I had this exact thing happen to me during a 18U USSSA tournament this past weekend.  Except, the pitcher was set.  He stepped forward like in this video.  I'm on the bases and I immediately called "balk" at which time all play ceased.  I walked up to the pitcher who looked at me like he didn't know what he did wrong.  I told him he illegally disengaged the rubber.  He said, "Don't I get a warning?".  After my brief chuckle, I said, "no, sir, you do not get a warning."  His reply was "is it because we're big boys?"  My return reply was, "yes, it's because you're big boys. Now don't do it again!"
